  1. Mateta's work rate made it work up top, Edouard was a little quiet (Franca had his best game when he came on) and Ayew was brilliant. I'm not sure whether it was the quality of opposition, the new manager or the attacking nature of Daniel Munoz but its great seeing us play about 20 yards more forward.
  2. Yeah, Pawson was terrible. Sadly he's in The Mason Club so we will be talking about his poor officiating for another 5+ years.
  3. A big weekend this. With Leeds/Leicester, Hull/WBA and QPR/Rotherham the pressure is on the teams around them to pick up victories.
  4. It took Newcastle months to agree a deal with Brighton. It’s literally been a few days. These comments are hardly going to help his cause.
  5. It’s a popular move in the US to get state funding towards a stadium, which is probably where he’s also got the idea from. The owners say it will redevelop an area and bring new business to the benefit of the city where it is being built. But the benefits are usually pretty small to anyone but the team owners. People are becoming more aware but the politicians making the deals are getting benefits from it too in some way, so they typically won’t push back unless there is public outcry. Funnily enough, I was reading an article earlier that the Chicago white Sox owner is asking for over 1 billion dollars to build a new stadium, replacing the current one that was built in 1991 and the city has still not finished paying off. I don't think this government will take the bait. There will be an outcry. Especially during a cost of living crisis.

  7. Well they tried being a modern thinking football club for about five seconds.
  8. It won't be too bad if we finish 17th then given we make a snail look quick when it comes to doing anything in the transfer market anyway.
  9. Not Germany national team specific but that's some dunk by the Korean FA on Jurgen Klinsmann.
  10. With Brentford, if there current recruitment hits a ceiling, you'd trust them to adapt to a different model that works. It's frustrating for the rest of us but clearly Bloom and Benham's skills were transferable and it's good that there boyhood clubs that were traditionally third/fourth tier are the ones benefitting from it during the time of "There's too much money to break through".
  11. What . What data are you expecting Newcastle United to have on players that nobody else does that'll influence how Dan Ashworth signs players for a top club in two summers time? All these clubs have access to the same data on players, it's how they interpret it that differs.
  12. Pleased to hear the update from Lewington that Roy seems to be OK - I really hope its not something which can be attributed to what must have been quite a stressful period with all the speculation about his job. Its taken a bit of a shine off what looks like an exciting and impressive change to secure Glasner. I wonder what this means for Everton on Monday. Either way just hoping for some more positive news on Roy's health.
  13. 6 mil for a suit and he gets a year off work.
  14. By now you'd think Boehly would have recognised the Brighton staff don't get to keep there login to the algorithm.
  15. Brighton came mid-table in 21/22, since then Chelsea have bought half the club and now they're mid-table.
  16. I think it's getting to the stage now where Paddy McCarthy needs to start doing press conferences. This is the fourth occasion now where I've thought "I get what you're trying to say but it's come out completely wrong".
