  1. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/jan/23/roy-hodgson-on-thin-ice-after-discussions-with-palace-chairman I imagine Parish's ideal scenario is he lands 2 or 3 players Roy will be happy to integrate quickly and Rob Edwards becomes available in the summer.
  2. Yeah, Olise definitely has the higher ceiling. Even more so when you factor in the age difference.
  3. "He has drawn comparisons to City’s prolific senior striker Erling Haaland for their visual resemblance and has recorded impressive goal and assist statistics for their age-group teams." So no pressure.
  4. Kevin Day on Price of Football Pod has alluded to news regarding John Textor and Crystal Palace likely to come out this week.
  5. I found out a bit about this yesterday. Initially Man City wanted what would have been an eight figure outlay and there wasn't the interest they anticipated. They have since said they'd take a five million flat fee and pay his wages, which has perked the interest of a lot of Premier League clubs, so I expect the final fee to be somewhere in the middle.
  6. Eze is half fit at the minute. I'm anticipating an improvement against the three promoted teams. But yes, we're dreadful, I don't know where we go from here. We needed strong leadership and bold decisions last summer. Now we're paying the price for this.
  7. Well at least he's not saying 'fuck brent ford' again, in a way.
  8. If only there was an owners and directors test.
  9. The Athletic piece on Forest is eye watering! This was my favourite bit "There is the story of Omar Richards, who joined from Bayern Munich without anybody realising he had a fractured leg. Somehow, Richards passed a medical he underwent in Greece. He cost £8.5m and, 18 months on, has not played a single minute for the club." " By the time Forest signed Chris Wood and Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle United last January, they knew the numbers contained all sorts of risks. They went ahead and did it anyway. Wood signed on loan with a clause in his contract that triggered a £15m deal, on £100,000 a week, as soon as he was named in the matchday squad three times. Shelvey was given a two-and-a-half-year contract on roughly £75,000 a week and, within St James’ Park, the two transfers created something bordering on amazement. Put bluntly, they could not believe Forest thought it was good business.
  10. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/crystal-palace-transfers-news-phillips-nketiah-2024-b1132692.html No smoke without fire. He'd be the best short term solution for a side in our position until Doucoure returns but you'd think Newcastle could offer him just as much game time with there unavailable list. It sounds like we're waiting Ekitike to make a decision before pushing for an attacking forward as his decision is likely to start a domino effect ie. if he goes West Ham then Ings is available.
  11. It amazes me how so many Nottingham Forest fans are jumping to the defence of Maranakis. Anybody could have seen how reckless and irresponsible it was to sign 30 players, spend €195m+ on players, and pay huge wages for a promoted club on players like Lingard, Henderson, Navas, Ayew etc. He was not ambitious he was incredibly irresponsible.
  12. The ownership really dont get what the problem is.

His best material is in the wrong company. Sammy, Jericho, Jungle Boy, Bucks, Matt Hardy's wife, Darby etc.
  14. Our owner situation is still looking messy. John Textor has made it known publicly he still wants to sell his 45% stake this season. He doesn't like not having the final say when he's the majority owner because of the other three don't agree with his long term philosophies. What's new news this month is that potential bidders are put off by the fact they'd be passive investors as Steve Parish still has the final say in football matters. Steve Parish has been a very good guardian for the club since we came out of administration. You could argue he's actually been exceptional to take the club from Championship relegation favourites to mid level Premier League for a decade and becoming the spokesperson for the 14 clubs against the greedy six. I'm sure he will do what's best for the club, but him selling his 10% or losing his majority could have ramifications for everybody given his influence in chairman PL meetings.
