  1. It’s a popular move in the US to get state funding towards a stadium, which is probably where he’s also got the idea from. The owners say it will redevelop an area and bring new business to the benefit of the city where it is being built. But the benefits are usually pretty small to anyone but the team owners. People are becoming more aware but the politicians making the deals are getting benefits from it too in some way, so they typically won’t push back unless there is public outcry. Funnily enough, I was reading an article earlier that the Chicago white Sox owner is asking for over 1 billion dollars to build a new stadium, replacing the current one that was built in 1991 and the city has still not finished paying off. I don't think this government will take the bait. There will be an outcry. Especially during a cost of living crisis.

  3. Well they tried being a modern thinking football club for about five seconds.
  4. It won't be too bad if we finish 17th then given we make a snail look quick when it comes to doing anything in the transfer market anyway.
  5. A boring game for the neutral but I was happy to see we seem to have enough about us to survive this season without our four best players. The 3-4-2-1 sounds like the way we will go for the rest of the season and some players impressed more than I anticipated. Tyrick Mitchell's heat map must never have been so high and Joel Ward covered for Munoz well whilst as a right centre back which I think will be his new position over the next 18+ months. Adam Wharton's range of passing should get better as players recognise what he's capable of and should keep him in the XI. There were some downsides, the manner of the goal we conceded was disappointing, Mateta doesn't win enough aerial dules or physical battles for a man of his size and I don't see 'it' with Ahamada who gives away far too many dangerous free kicks. I think Everton will see this as a bigger opportunity lost. They haven't won in a while and on paper this was a great opportunity to do so given the dire situation we're in. But the performances since Brighton have made me believe were capable of finishing 14th-16th even if we dont have the substitutes to hold on every week. Hopefully we get a reset this summer under Glasner.
  6. I'm sad for him that it's ended like this. Steve Parish should be ashamed at how he's failed to back Roy Hodgson's adequately in several transfer windows over his six seasons with us.
  7. Millwall are in a similar position to Palace now. If the teams beneath them keep performing above expectations and they don't improve I can see them going down. Which was unthinkable under Gary Rowett.
  8. He's gone from The Yorkshire Pirlo to the The Yorkshire Pudding.
  9. What's your record like against Big clubs? Is it concerning for next season?
  10. Yeah. Very happy for him after what happened at Bournemouth.
  11. Not Germany national team specific but that's some dunk by the Korean FA on Jurgen Klinsmann.
  12. With Brentford, if there current recruitment hits a ceiling, you'd trust them to adapt to a different model that works. It's frustrating for the rest of us but clearly Bloom and Benham's skills were transferable and it's good that there boyhood clubs that were traditionally third/fourth tier are the ones benefitting from it during the time of "There's too much money to break through".
  13. What . What data are you expecting Newcastle United to have on players that nobody else does that'll influence how Dan Ashworth signs players for a top club in two summers time? All these clubs have access to the same data on players, it's how they interpret it that differs.
  14. Pleased to hear the update from Lewington that Roy seems to be OK - I really hope its not something which can be attributed to what must have been quite a stressful period with all the speculation about his job. Its taken a bit of a shine off what looks like an exciting and impressive change to secure Glasner. I wonder what this means for Everton on Monday. Either way just hoping for some more positive news on Roy's health.
  15. 6 mil for a suit and he gets a year off work.
  16. By now you'd think Boehly would have recognised the Brighton staff don't get to keep there login to the algorithm.
  17. Brighton came mid-table in 21/22, since then Chelsea have bought half the club and now they're mid-table.
