Referees/VAR in the Premier League
Dave replied to Happy Blue's topic in Premier League - English Football Forum
Sian Massey has consistently been very good since she arrived. She puts the Mason Club of Officials to shame. -
Its getting to a point where paying for a dodgy box to watch football feels like the moral choice.

Some rumours that Dougie Freedman is off to Man United. He's very meticulous when it comes to signing players, he'd rather not sign anybody than sign the wrong player, so the days of you signing duds would at least be over. His favoured approach of waiting until the end of the window to conclude deals would infuriate everybody though, so I wonder if he'd alter that given the vast sums of money at his disposal and the increased media spotlight. Hopefully you're still willing to pay Man United prices for Guehi, Olise and Eze.

In terms of global size of clubs in England there's Manchester United and then there's everybody else. They will always have an appeal to managers outside the greedy six and Newcastle.

Feel free to bookmark this as a hot take that turns out to be terrible but from what I saw of Jarrad Branthwaite today he is the natural long term successor for John Stones if Pep stays at Man City long enough to complete another rebuild.

I did hear early October they were confident of reaching a new deal but it would include a release clause. Hopefully it's significantly more than what we would have got for him with a year left on his contract.

No one in the Premier League bat an eyelid when deals between Udinese and Watford were done, but as soon as its a club that can threaten the 'big greedy 6' do it it's a problem.

NWA's golden goose appears to have evaporated with CW. They're allegedly looking for an out after James Mitchell pretended to do cocaine at there last show. I have no idea why wrestling gets treated differently to a normal TV show, but if this is there attitude they couldn't have been that committed to the deal in the first place. We're back to 2005 where TNA is the only logical alternative to WWE, which isn't going to happen on that awful network deal they have. Let's hope Eli Drake keeps being himself and Cody wins at WrestleMania.

I don't think Ric Flair will help anyone in all honesty. It's a pay cheque for him. He can barely put together a coherent sentence. I gave AEW a lot of leeway this summer because of All In, but that evaporated after Tony Khan's breakdown over the NXT raiting.

Save money on Ten Hag's wages and get fans to write tactics on bed sheets.

Tony Khan's important announcement on TV this week was to mention tickets for All In go on sale next month. He's also just signed Ric Flair to a multi year deal. I feel like a broken record at this point, but if he has any real friends, surely somebody would tell him to take a step back and do some self reflection? This is reminiscent of TNA early 2010. The way Matt Hardy and Chris Jericho attempted to justify his childish Twitter outbursts last month was just embarrassing.

Yes watched it last week. I thought Al Snow, Doug Basham, Leila Grey Mahabali Shera and the tall lady came across well. The rest of them not so much. If that guy Hayley was dating ever gets close to joining a big company he's 100% getting cancelled for admitting he assaulted her on Netflix.

I still can't believe UFC didn't pay him what he's worth. A Heavyweight Champion with an incredible back story that has heat with Dana White. There was a lot of money to be made there.

If Manchester United approached Emery I think he'd go. In terms of club size in England there's Manchester United and then there's everybody else. That said I don't think it would be the right decision. Ten Hag has disposed of a lot of problematic characters and now there appears to be a wave of new problems. The players who filled holes last season are becoming issues this season. Then there's the inevitability of all the Emery meme's resurfacing after his first decision.

I imagine it's just the Premier League trying to show Government that they can regulate the league before an independent regulator comes in.

I can only assume if Everton's punishment is 12 points then Man City will be put in to the Welsh League.
