Iron Man reality one step closer.... https://metro.co.uk/2019/06/25/brit-student-designs-50mph-jet-pack-becomes-real-rocketman-10067585/
  3. If that pool of talent is utilised and allowed to gain experience then no it's not, we have said for a long, long time now that there is little point in having all that talent if they never get a chance to play and just get loaned out all the time then sold on... If Lampard is able to cherry pick from all the available players at his disposal it could be a very interesting season but if he is going to get told who he can and can't have by someone else but just get on with it regardless then that's a different matter... Sadly the club seems to be built around instant success which normally means buying in proven/experienced talent from elsewhere before giving our own youth product a chance to shine but this will be one of those unique seasons where that pool of players/youth will be more important than ever but lets not kid ourselves about him being in a difficult position because he will be.. Youth takes time to gain experience, players need time to gel and time and patience are just two of those valuable items that the club don't ever seem willing to exercise to any degree...
  4. I will be honest and say I think it's too early for him to be taking that job... I can understand why they would want him and also why he would want the job given his connection to the club but we all know how this club operates... he will be put to the sword if things don't go well for him and he will not be spared anything... I think he did quite well at Derby but it's early days for him in Management and the last thing I want to see is him face the possible humiliation of getting the sack which unless he turns into the next Ferguson in the first 6 months is all but assured at some point... He could not have taken over at a worse time for the club.. A transfer ban in place which means no new players plus we have just sold Hazard who has undoubtedly been our most influential player in recent seasons to Madrid.. he has certainly got his work cut out for him if he does take the job.. I don't believe that he will get any stick from the fans regardless of results because anyone with a modicum of common sense will know what he up against and because he still learning.. On the plus side he knows full well how the club operate so hopefully he will have his eyes wide open despite whatever assurances from the club he may be given.. The other aspect is of course the transfer ban, never will there ever be a better time for some of our younger players to make a name for themselves and become part of the future of the club something I believe he will be happy to support.. As long as people don't expect instant success in his first season then all well and good, let's see what he can do with what he has and let's not forget that as a player the CL is no stranger to him but as a Manager it's unknown territory so expect that to be a bit of a mixed bag..
  5. Yea.. as soon as they hear the Wolves howling or something crunching through the bushes their faces are a picture... you can just see the fear in their faces especially at night.. simple things like making a bog standard fire in those conditions becomes a major challenge for them... you tend to get a lot of crying.. It's the Isolation, it does things to a man.. On episode 7 now 'The Hunger'
  6. If you are watching it I will watch it... I am easily led like that..
  7. I have enjoyed it so far.... interesting to say the least, I am off work now for 12 days so will carry on watching the first season to see how it all plays out, They have a video recorder to document their progress with and a cell phone so they can call in if they are in serious trouble or want out.. Some of these blokes are anticipating being out there for anywhere up to year believe it or not in order to win... crazy how it plays out on their emotions being in desolate surroundings in dire conditions and it's the little things sometimes that make them cave in...
  8. Watched a show called Alone last night, think it's on it's 5th or 6th season now where 10 people get dumped miles apart in some remote location and have to be the last man standing to claim £500,000 in prize money... They get a choice of 10 items to take with them and then have to source their own shelter, water, food etc until they they can't take it anymore and tap out... Watched the first 3 of season 1 last night and some of these blokes just don't have a clue what they are letting themselves in for.. Might sound good while talking survival in your man cave to the kids but the harsh realities are waaayyy different when you are out there surrounded by Black Bears and Wolves in the pitch black dead of night with only a bit of tarpaulin stretched over a branch for protection... Found it interesting how they cope, or not as the case usually is... If you want to see grown men who probably gave it the big-un down the boozer in front of their mates seriously cacking themselves the first night they hear Wolves howling or Bears moving through the undergrowth then give this a watch..
  9. I enjoyed it, I will see how the second season holds up...
  10. I was going to flag that for you but seems you are already a step ahead of me.... I will continue to watch it, any reason you won't bother with the second season??

Back in my youth it was not uncommon for us to take the cars down the coast after a night out down the pub and stay there overnight well we made our way down to Brighton one night and some of us got caught messing about in the little theme park bit, Me and a mate were at the top of this big slide hiding behind a big clown face so we never got spotted but after they buggered off a few of us just sat in the cars and a few of the blokes I was with in the back started smoking something and they ended up laughing and laughing at fuck all... It was crazy to watch, I had to get out in the end and go sit on the beach just to get some fresh air and escape the insanity..
  12. Watched this last night, as you say, seen better and worse but it's ok, probably score it about the same.. funniest bit for me was when he was in awe of that actress on the boat and then got his wifes name wrong when introducing her... her face was a picture, just a light hearted 'whodunnit' really..
  13. Yea, saw it earlier in the week, it's been a really good watch so far, as you say there are lot's of small pockets of things going on within each group starting from the top of the chain all the way down the line to street level.. everyone with their own ambitions, all trying to manipulate situations for their own ends, just building up nicely as well for the second season, some of the fight scenes have been very well done as well... Good to see Hoon Lee again... This was an interview with him about his character from Banshee and it was the first time I had seen him in anything... worth a read.. plays a totally different character altogether... https://collider.com/hoon-leet-banshee-interview/
  14. Last episode of Warrior is out @nudge
  15. New episode of Warrior is out @nudge.. If you have not seen it already that is..
  16. Is that the one where they inherit a mansion and it's full of ghosts from all the different eras??

When I got in from work last night there was a big bunch of flowers in the sink... I wandered over and had a look and said "who's are those like?" the missus said "They are mine" then tried to give me her slightly suspicious/mysterious look so I thought go on then I will have a nibble at it... "Got a secret admirer have we" I said, " Might have" she replied... "Good" I said... "takes some of the pressure off of me then"
