My two daughters were up bright and early this morning annoying me while I was trying to have a peaceful cup of coffee in the early morning quiet of the day and my youngest recently picked me up a few bits while she was out shopping the other day and couldn't help but pass comment to my other daughter how it's funny that I transferred the exact amount I owed her in to her account ( £7 ) and nothing more... " you would think Dad might round it up to a tenner wouldn't you, but he gives you just the right amount" she said.. I had to laugh... a couple of weeks ago she passed her driving test and got herself a cheap little runaround so I asked her how much the car cost and she said £960 and I asked her why she didn't round it up to a £1000??? and she said "because that's what it cost" "Exactly" I said...

I found living in Nottingham a huge change from life here... So quiet and peaceful, not many people, hardly any cars about.. On the downside of that there was not much to do and I missed the hustle and bustle of it all sometimes.. coming back home was a shock to the system especially in the house, the noise levels were through the roof compared to what I had been used to, almost tempted to go back at one point... I went from a house up there with just 3 of us and hardly seeing each other to coming back to what we have now and that's 7 altogether including the grandchildren... sometimes there is just no peace at all, drives you mad it does

I think because its a given over here that you are going to be late 2 or 3 times a week the way the trains run...

Been checking up on it... some of the stories are from people that have lived in Japan for some time ( 15 years ) some not so long ( 2 years ) and they claim that apologies are either dished out on the tannoy system or passengers are offered an apology as they are leaving each station by the attendants on the gates?? That would mean in theory each passenger could have an apology but as you say when you are dealing with hundreds of passengers going through a mainline station this would probably not be practical or even possible.. could you imagine that happening at Waterloo or Kings Cross for example but then London Transport don't give a toss about passengers over here or even how late the trains are but over there they take lateness far more seriously hence the lateness slips which all the comments I read indicate are in fact true... Some thought that a personal apology was more likely on trains that ran further out from the main stations as passengers were a lot less which would make more sense..

Details are emerging on the interweb of a metal-detector-enthusiast needing the assistance of the emergency services after digging a 12ft hole after his metal detector started to give a huge reading indicating that the male could be standing on a vast amount treasure. However, it would appear that the male suffered a morale failure after realising, 12ft into the hole, that his trusty metal detector was, in fact, picking up his steel-capped boots. Reports suggest that the male had spent the best-part of 18-hours digging the hole until he realised that it was his boots that was setting the alarm on his metal detector off.

Did both of mine yesterday funny enough, It was not planned but the weather was great so did the patio and garden area then gave the house decking area the once over.. took me most of the day on and off.. On a funny note we were trying to fathom out why the hell the washer was not working for about 15 minutes and I actually thought it was broken when I first got it out only for my son to come down and ask is it switched on?? The other half plugged it in but never flicked the switch on.. and there was her grabbing it off me thinking it was me.. I think my smirk said all that was needed there...
