  1. I wish schools could be done online but we won’t close. Maybe early for school holidays?
  2. $50,000 and potential jail time up to 12 months in my state.
  3. As of midnight tonight we have followed our glorious neighbours (NZ) in implementing mandatory self isolation of 14 days for ANYONE who comes into Australia. How to police this though? A lady in Perth got tested and while waiting for results went to the theatre so... it may help but can you expect any tourists or any Aussie (we are generally a “she will be alright/dumb” people) to self quarantine? I don’t. Schools still open after our PM takes advice from Britain allegedly. Our cases will grow crazily. We are not even in flu season and we are at 256 cases so far. I read a list of 9-10 flights that have come into Perth with a passenger who has coronavirus and messages to get checked if you were in certain aisles. My dumb ass state have been letting in cruise ships still. 3000 passengers from around the world just got into port the other day. But the federal government have now banned cruise ships docking for 30 days I believe. It’s a start but hmmm
  4. I only have limited leave and the preparation I need to do to even have one day off is hours of work. It’s not like I can just have a day off and the kids run the class themselves! Also, haven’t been to the doctors as I am getting better.. I am hoping we end the term a week or two early and have our holidays to try and stem any potential spreads in schools.
  5. We are still having 35 degree days. Not looking forward to our winter.
  6. Can you say that to our government? I missed Wednesday because I was super sick. Today kids coughing and spluttering everywhere. Sent one home. I have a student going you indonesia next week and they are just meant to monitor upon return currently..I am never going to recover at this rate!!
  7. Nothing planned except an intrastate trip in October. Parents are meant to be off to Maldives in a week or so. Already paid for some insane private island... fingers crossed they still go and are all good. Thanks @nudge I think the media has got to me. I know this is serious but we had no new cases in WA today but we can’t always trust people to go and test themselves.
  8. Mate I see that everyday. Don’t need to tell me! Haha
  9. Ah fuck sake. Maybe I should get tested. Edit: although I do not have all symptoms. But I’m melodramatic
  10. Can kids/people be carriers and not show any symptoms?
  11. We got lots more here but school still going. I have a student going to Bali next week. His mum is a nurse and today she’s like yeah we will take that risk. Oh gosh. I’m already trying to recover from some infection. More to come I imagine.
  12. I’d recommend any visitors to Bali self isolating when they come back. Particularly your boss who is likely to go through absolute monster hubs such as Dubai or KL. Although I am worried about my own situation but see how things progress.
  13. Why people go there baffles me. Indonesia would have thousands but doubt they have facilities and procedures (particularly in Bali) . Nudge may be able to say more.
  14. I’m pretty unwell at the moment. Lots of people are but I’m putting it down to teaching 5 year olds and change of season. It’s a bit worrying though considering. However, we only have 6 cases in WA at the moment and none confirmed from within state contraction. I’ve got a student going to Bali (Indonesia) later this week, currently they’re only meant to self monitor on the way back, I hope they self isolate though... Could be interesting to see what schools do.
  15. Impressive second half but think we have only won one of our last 7? I couldn’t go today but the second half was definitely entertaining.
  16. Still wanna do Antarctica but it’s insane money!
  17. 17 degrees at the beach fuck that
  18. I’m seeing people share all kinds of data to compare it with other outbreaks and the common flu. Our health department or whatever have said in Western Australia an outbreak is inevitable. Peaking in August??
