  1. I've heard it's awful, like they're poking your brain through your nose.
  2. Here are both of my kitties posing for a photo
  3. Like you said in your post before... I don't understand why there's this 24 July date. Incredibly arbitrary, tbh. Where I'm at, we had some new restrictions in place (masks were already compulsory in supermarkets and have been for the last few months) - but it's really just a rollback of many of the restrictions from how the state first dealt with the virus being reimposed because they opened too early and everything has spiraled out of control. But there's no arbitrary date that's been imposed. The "new" restrictions are effective immediately and basically anything deemed non-essential that takes place indoors is prohibited again.
  4. What the fuck? Although what do we expect Gove to tell us when experts are saying otherwise.
  5. I might go to hell for laughing at the end, but I enjoyed that
  6. Henderson’s our for the matches we have left. Glad we’ve already won it, tbh. But I think that’s a massive blow to our hopes of chasing the points record.
  7. This actually has happened here in San Diego, with multiple officers. Just in the past few years. There's something weird about Americas policing culture, because so many cops are willing to abuse their position in pretty fucked up ways. And they never seem to care about the repercussions.
  8. Lol that last sentence just makes me think of Souness or something. For what it’s worth, I can understand why they resigned him - even if consistency is an issue. With COVID, United’s revenue has been hit... like everyone’s has been... they’ve got other areas of the squad that will need more immediate investment.
  9. Tbh surprised to see the US at above 50% based off the last time I went to the supermarket and saw 4(!) fucking people shouting at a store clerk bitching about how their rights were being infringed by being told to wear a mask in the store. With the UK (and Scandinavia)... it looks like far too many people aren’t wearing masks to draw any conclusions as to whether it’s split down political preference. Blows my mind though, if everyone wears a mask it reduces the likelihood of spreading the disease significantly and it’s not that much of an inconvenience to put one on. Plus you can mutter insults at people and they can’t read your lips, which is handy.
  10. FFS are masks becoming a political issue back home as well? That's disheartening as fuck.
  11. You just don’t listen to OldManChopper enough
  12. I hope we win the FA cup sometime soon, so Jordan has a full collection of the domestic medals.
  13. It's strange to me because so many of his base are parts of the most vulnerable in the US"s population to the virus. Taking an anti-science approach that the base seems to love and actively encouraging them to ignore experts' advice to stop the spread... is basically the same as encouraging his base to spread the virus. I don't really understand his approach. Honestly, I think if he'd taken a more serious approach to handling the virus early on... he'd probably have managed to get a huge boost in approval ratings. And the economy's going to slow down further now that more and more restrictions (that were lifted far too early) - so this incredibly shitty approach the US has taken to dealing with coronavirus has destroyed I think the one thing he could point to for legitimising his re-election. Using the vast resources of the US government to minimise the impact of covid just seems like the obvious thing to do here, regardless of anyone's political leanings... it makes any party/person more appealing to voters if they take a serious response to a crisis. Rather than telling each state to basically handle it by themselves, bailing out big companies & providing minimal financial relief for those who lost their jobs and are facing imminent eviction from their homes as soon as their cities lift their moratoriums on evictions... there could have been a united national response with each state implementing the same restrictions. He could have even sent out fucking MAGA facemasks to people FFS. And it's a more compelling argument that he made America great again by it's serious response to a global pandemic. Instead America's handled it the worst, which doesn't look like he's made it that great at all.
  14. Anyone seen anything about the government's agricultural bill? Apparently it's pretty controversial, particularly with regards to dropping farm animal welfare standards and food safety standards. There are also concerns with how it'll impact rural communities if food production and land management are placed on the same priority level. But the animal welfare implications are apparently most controversial as it flies in the face of the Tory manifesto which stated that animal welfare standards would not drop. Are the drop in animal welfare standards a reaction to the US's claims that any post-Brexit trade deal must allow for the US to be able to sell their chlorinated chicken to the UK? If not, why has there been such little in the media regarding this fairly controversial bit of political news... which impacts the UK's food supply pretty significantly. I understand that COVID is a big issue... but this should be too. And this is something where... I've had a pretty hard time finding more information or finding sources that don't have an overtly partisan stance and aren't interested in covering the issue objectively. Which I think is really strange tbh.
  15. Can someone with backdoor access to a phone get info about people that don't have that backdoor on the phone... but have communicated with via text/whatsapp/the internet on a device compromised by something like TikTok? Because that would essentially mean TikTok's given the Chinese government a shitload of info about almost everybody on the fucking internet. Sort of worrying when you consider modern China's history of thought control and you consider that having info about peoples' online habits mean you can target ads specifically to appeal to them and influence them that way & the history of online misinformation spread in recent political elections. Hopefully that's not the case though.
  16. Where I'm at restrictions were eased, but certain businesses and individuals treated this relaxation of the rules as "normal service resumed" and subsequently there's been a massive spike over the last few weeks. So yesterday many of these eased restrictions have been rolled back. It really makes it all for naught easing back restrictions as the number of cases goes up... and then continuing to ease restrictions, then once the spike becomes too large and concerning... then thinking "ah shit, maybe we reopened too early. Close it down again." But before Monday, our mayor decided to leave the county's beaches and pubs open when literally everywhere else around had closed their beaches and pubs. Subsequently, so many dickheads from out of the area (where cases are actually much worse than they are here) to celebrate their independence day and now I'm fully expecting more bad news for San Diego's planned reopening starting in about 5.1 days and just gradually being worse news for about 2 weeks or more. The mayor's a fucking idiot.
  17. Heard Mustafi’s the next one getting an extension.
  18. He was at a rally where quite a few people who were in attendance tested positive as well

I thoroughly appreciate that California deemed weed delivery an essential business
  20. It must be not enough that America’s covid policy is killing so many Americans when there are so many other lives America can take around the world as it ineptly fumbles through this crisis.
  21. I still rate Sterling better, tbh. Maybe because I’d seen him develop with us as well, but I think Sterling’s a better player than most give him credit for - even though he’s highly rated. But I don’t think there’s much between them in terms of raw talent. Sane just seems like such a nightmare to defend against. They’re both incredible players though. I just worry what City will do now they’ve sold someone so good.
  22. Looks like the Sane deal is done now. Thank god, I hated playing against him. Incredible player. Sane, Gnabry and Coman as options out wide is pretty impressive depth.
  23. I mean tbh, out of those players you listed... the only one I actually thinks is crap is Stones. And that’s only because his form has massively dropped off - he looked pretty decent at a while for Citeh then he went way out of form. I don’t know why that happened really, but sometimes shit like that just happens. Christensen’s inconsistent - but isn’t he pretty young? It’s hard to fault a player coming through where experience matters for being inconsistent. I think a leader at the back (in the Terry or VVD mold) would make a better player out of him. Tbh Chelsea should be the ones in for Koulibaly. Zouma’s a good CB if you put him in a deeper defensive line, imo. Sort of unfortunate for him that he’s come into a Chelsea that want to play a bit more progressive football with a higher line. He’s a bit too slow generally and not the best on the ball for playing like that. I don’t think that necessarily makes him bad. I’d probably class Ake as around the same boat as Christensen. They’ve got all the raw attributes to be a top CB, they just need the brains of a top CB. Granted, you could’ve said that about Stones before he joined Citeh... so maybe you’re right and it’s not the right move for them. I’d probably rate him a bit higher than Christensen, tbh but maybe that’s because he’s clearly one of the better players on his side.
