  1. Lance, IMO, might be the 15th best driver on the grid, so I'm not sure I could ever imagine a world where he is a World Champion unless Max, Lewis, Leclerc, Sainz, Perez, Norris, and George retire, Lance moves to Mercedes, and the rest of the field fails epically.
  2. I posted this in the La Liga section, but not sure if anyone else saw it. https://www.football-espana.net/2023/02/09/la-liga-exclude-real-madrid-and-barcelona-officials-as-superleague-gains-traction The President of La Liga, Tebas, is trying to exclude officials from Barcelona and Real Madrid from upcoming talks on the future of the league, as they are two of the main factors driving the new Super League. From the article and others I have read, it does appear that even after the appeals from fans over the idea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus are still committed to the idea.
  3. Did anyone hear about this? https://www.football-espana.net/2023/02/09/la-liga-exclude-real-madrid-and-barcelona-officials-as-superleague-gains-traction Reports are that La Lia president, Tebas, is trying to exclude Real Madrid and Barcelona from being apart of the discussions about the leagues future, thus giving them basically no say on the direction of the league. This is large part because the two clubs (along with Juventus) are the driving factors for the new Super League discussions.
  4. Yes, but from what I remember (and have read since then), there were amazingly in even worse shape financially before Lim came along, but the idea of a rich foreign investment gave the Valencia fans something excited to look forward to, and instead has turned into shambles. They wanted someone like Abramovich, and instead got someone worse than the Glazer's.

Go Eagle. Hurts, Smith, and Dickerson are all Alabama legends, so I'd love for them to win the SB together.
  6. I'm curious how many CL winners were actual league champions the previous year? Wouldn't shock me if it were around 75% over the past 20 years, but I'm too lazy to do the work to find out exactly.
  7. Yep, read that this AM. For those that haven't and don't want to, here's the scope. Lim sees Valencia as a toy, and hasn't been to Spain in years to watch a Valencia match.
  8. I heard about this while making dinner. I'll admit that I know nothing about him, but I have to trust the Atlanta Front Office in that they vetted him well enough to know that he'll fit in nicely and provide some goals, as that's what we are missing more than anything.
  9. Starts in just a few weeks (February 25). Atlanta United are home against San Jose, so hopefully things have changed and this year will be different for United. No Jose Martinez could be a weird sight as he was the last remaining key player from the MLS Cup winning United team.
  10. Sorry to have brought up painful truths. The key people are still here, and that's what matters.
  11. On another note, this forum seems to have fallen off even more in the past 12 months. Is there some truth in that or am I just mistaken?
  12. Crazy that you are reading this, as I was just talking about picking this book up again (I tried years ago and never finished). Let me know what you think. I'm about to finish this - Which is really good actually, as he lived in a ashram, and there was a time in my life that I was seriously considering becoming a Buddhist monk. Volume 2 of the series, and the first book was fantastic, whereas this one hasn't caught my attention yet and I haven't felt inspired by the words as of yet, but I'm not half-way through yet so we'll see how it progresses. And then this, which so far is a fantastic read about someone I know very VERY little about.
  13. Ah, cheers. Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll ever be back as much as I was, but I figured I'd drop in and see how everyone was doing. Family is doing well! I hope the same for you, and that you and your family have been doing well. Thank you sir! Again, not sure I'll ever be 'back', but it's nice to pop in from time to time. Hope you've been doing well!
  14. Thank you, you two. It was a good day and I'm certainly blessed. Hope you both are doing well.
  15. thank you sir. Really appreciate the well wishes from everyone

I'm alive and still here. There was an internal dispute that I felt like the scapegoat for so I figured my time, energy, and money was better spent elsewhere. Hope you're doing well though!

    Chess

Cheers - wouldn't say I'm 'back', as I don't have nearly as much time as I used to, but I had the urge to check in recently and it's good to see you and others appearing to be doing well.

Depends. Is it a FIDE approved tournament? (you'd known in the details or in the name). It's still not all that easy to find online tournaments that are 'officially' rated, as cheating is so easy to do online. With that being the case, there are more and more, but unless you are in the US, you need to look for FIDE rated chess tournaments. Play in those and your results will be loaded to FIDE and you'll get a proper rating.

Just decided to log in to see if my account was still active. But yeah, there are a lot of cities trying to get remote workers to move there. I have seen some cities offering free moving services and $10k to move there and stay for 3-5 years at least.
  20. Ha thanks but I'm not back, was just told about this and wanted to help out Coma. So, with Augsburg, the IBAN is an international bank number. For Augsburg, they provided me with their account numbers, and I was able to just set up a wire transfer directly into their accoutn with my Mitiglied # .
  21. Greetings, sir. I have stepped away from the forum while dealing with family things. What do you want to know good sir. the IBAN is a odd process, but I can hopefully answer any questions you may have.

I also miss the Nordiques, even though they were Quebec Rival. I'd say no to another Toronto team. The one they have sucks, they don't need another shit team in the city. I wouldn't mind a team in Hamilton or London, but certainly another Canadian team is needed. I agree. Don't doing anything is a weak man's move, and he was full of shit and a prick for nothing doing more after the meeting. Just another reason to hate the Jets.

This shocks me...really does. Wasn't it him and Coach Q who came out weeks ago and state that they knew nothing about this? If so, he should be banned from the NHL.

I agree it's odd how hard they are trying to NOT move them, but with the success of Vegas and Kraken in terms of attendance and excitement, I wonder if this might slowly change his mind that they need to move the organization to a city that actually likes hockey.
