  1. EFL concede they can't give us a points deduction based on our breaches in PL. They're not fit for purpose. Embarrassing from them. https://www.efl.com/news/2024/april/12/efl-statement--leicester-city/ On 22 March 2024 Leicester City Football Club announced they had commenced urgent legal proceedings against the EFL and the Premier League. This followed the Club’s referral to an independent Premier League Disciplinary Commission for an alleged breach of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (P&S), ending in financial year 2022/23. The Club had also been placed under an EFL registration embargo, in accordance with Profitability & Sustainability Rule 2.10.1, after filing its 2023/24 P&S calculation. One element of the Club’s legal proceedings involved an application to a League arbitration panel under the EFL Regulations in which it accused the EFL, amongst other things, of acting ‘unlawfully by conspiring with the Premier League to use unlawful means and to procure or induce a breach of contract by the Premier League’ in relation to its proceedings against the Club. The Club made an application for an interim injunction to prevent the EFL from imposing a sporting sanction in the current 2023/24 season. Leicester City sent no letter before action and issued the proceedings without notice. The core issue in question was whether the EFL has the ability under its Regulations to apply a points deduction in its competition if ordered by a Premier League Disciplinary Commission. Having taken legal advice, the EFL has confirmed to all parties that whilst it would want to respect any decision of a Premier League Disciplinary commission (and vice versa) to deduct points in the EFL, it does not have the power under the Regulations as currently drafted. On the basis of that confirmation, the League Arbitration Panel held that the Club’s application for an interim injunction was neither necessary nor appropriate. The League Arbitration Panel dismissed the Club’s application accordingly

  4. 9 goals across these two games, and both first goals in the first half. Game 121's was very early, in the 4th minute - only @Bluebird Hewitt getting close enough to get 2 points. Game 122's was towards half-time, in the 37th minute. But no winners here. Table after Game 122: Those two points propel @Bluebird Hewitt all the way up from 12th to 6th, level on points with myself.
  5. You really don't like English football or media do you . @Michael was only making a point about Leverkusen pretty much securing the league this weekend. Nothing about inevitability before the season or comparing to a result against Arsenal...?
  6. You wonder if some big players may leave? Van Dijk, Salah, Alexander-Arnold perhaps? Maybe not all 3, but with Klopp going, anything could happen.

  9. Part of me wonders if they've had some kind of discussion (internally?) about priorities, and perhaps putting all the proverbial eggs in to the PL title basket, and not worrying about Europa League...

  15. Same thing @Dan Gotta be done...
  16. Taking Swansea back out of the equation after their resounding win over Stoke. Birmingham dropped a place as Sheff Weds rescued a point to go level with Huddersfield. Millwall picked up a valuable 3 points and were the only team in the bottom 9 to pick up 3 points, precious at this stage! Again, with such small gaps in points, if at all, it seems likely goal-difference could play a part. Plymouth's is far superior to Huddersfield & Sheff Weds, whilst Birmingham and Stoke's are the same, and only 1 goal separates QPR/Millwall/Blackburn. Next Games: Birmingham vs Coventry Sheff Weds vs Stoke Bristol City vs Huddersfield Plymouth vs Leicester Leeds vs Blackburn Millwall vs Cardiff Hull vs QPR
  17. After we lost to Millwall on Tuesday, I was ready to write about more twists and turns. But as it is, we've somehow remained top after Ipswich and Leeds both failed to win or score against mid-table opponents with little to nothing to play for... Automatic Promotion: Once again, Leicester have an opportunity to have some clear daylight between them and the rest as they play on Friday night before anyone else. Southampton, with two games in hand, may find themselves with a bit of hope as teams above them dropped points... Play-offs: With so few games left, West Brom have pretty much nailed their play-off spot. So now it's down to 5 teams fighting it out for one spot. But Norwich have a decent gap even with 3 teams below them having a game in hand (one of those being Coventry vs Hull). It may boil down to goal-difference, too, with Norwich and Coventry only separated by 2 goals, and Hull & Middlesbrough - who played out a 2-2 draw last night - level on +5. Next Games: Plymouth vs Leicester Leeds vs Blackburn Ipswich vs Middlesbrough Southampton vs Watford West Brom vs Sunderland Birmingham vs Coventry Preston vs Norwich Hull vs QPR
  18. Had a big tendency to lean into players that jumped over him, so they'd fall awkwardly. Luckily no-one got badly injured from it (from memory anyway).
