  1. No change in positions in the bottom 4 but Forest picked up 3 priceless points to create a bit of a gap between themselves and the drop zone. It could even be goal difference that saves them given the difference of 12 between them and Luton, and 18 to Burnley. Luton missed the chance to beat an already-safe Everton, whilst Burnley lost out to a strong Newcastle. Burnley now need to win both their games (one of which is against Forest) and hope that Forest lose vs Chelsea to take it to the final day.
  2. It's heading down to the final day it seems in the race for the title. Arsenal and Man City march on with ease in the race for first, and Tottenham once again will have a say in proceedings in this coming gameweek. It's probably too little too late for Liverpool despite beating Spurs. Despite Villa losing and their form dropping, they look to have secured 4th place thanks to Spurs' even worse form. The race for European football for one of Newcastle, Chelsea and Man Utd heats up even further - two of the sides had very convincing wins, while Man Utd suffered an embarrassing defeat at Palace to weaken their cause. West Ham played themselves out of European football next season and they are pretty much 'on the beach'.
  3. They also almost find it ridiculously hard to actually analyse the good parts that Palace do as opposed to the bad parts that Utd do.
  4. Carragher et al on Sky weirdly choosing to totally ignore Evans' shortcomings for the first two Palace goals. Instead choosing to focus on Casemiro and Onana respectively. Not saying they also weren't at fault, but Evans defending there like a competition winner yet it was totally glossed over.
  5. One of those games where Palace at really, really good and Man Utd are the complete opposite.
  6. I was looking at this the other day for Luton & Forest, but went back a bit further to see if form does actually have a bearing on who eventually wins the play-offs... 22/23 Luton last 6 form - won 3, drew 3 21/22 Forest last 6 - won 4, drew 1, lost 1 20/21 - Brentford last 6 - won 4, drew 2 19/20 - Fulham last 6 - won 4, drew 2 18/19 Villa last 6 - won 4, drew 1, lost 1 Point being that any 4 of you are screwed basing it on form . All 4 teams are in the bottom half for the last 5 form table. Norwich 12th, Southampton 13th, West Brom 16th and Leeds 22nd. I hope it's not a sign of things to come in terms of quality of the games...
  7. I think Leeds will overcome their 'choker/bottler' tag this time round. Southampton are the most formidable of the remaining 3, but even so I think they'll beat them in the final if they both get there, and I think they both will. Norwich are bit hit and miss, as are West Brom. They're the kinds of teams that when they're on it, they can just overcome teams with ease, but those kinds of days haven't been consistent enough and they can chuck in a stinker of a game or result. Leeds and Southampton on the other hand can be much more 'on it'.
  8. What a fall from grace after last season's success. Too much too soon? Shame they couldn't progress after that season.

  14. Superb from Lando. Delighted he could get his first win! Smashed it out the park considering the gap he created to Verstappen. McLaren were desperate for Piastri not to mess up and cause a SC

  17. Week 38 Results Leeds 1-2 Southampton Plymouth 1-0 Hull Celtic 3-0 Hearts Girona 4-2 Barcelona Melbourne Victory 1-1 Melbourne City DC United 2-2 Philadelphia Hannover 3-2 Paderborn Empoli 0-0 Frosinone Man City Women 1-2 Arsenal Women AZ Alkmaar 2-1 Twente Round-up A time of season where titles are won and lost, races for Europe are coming to a head and relegations are suffered. Still time for a derby here and there, and a feisty one in Melbourne to predict for as part of this week. Championship came to a conclusion too with the first two games, and in Women's football Man City lost the chance to get one step closer to the title. As for the rankings, they've been swapping all season and despite not being next to each other in the table, @Bluebird Hewitt and @Viva la FCB swapped again. Mainly thanks for the former's 3 Perfect Scores to get 19 points and go up into 3rd to form a late challenge to @CaaC (John) in 2nd place. @Rucksackfranzose expertly predicted a 3-2 score-line in favour of Hannover to get a Prediction of the Week on the way to getting the 2nd-highest points tally of the week.
  18. Norris in 1st just as Sargent/Magnussen crash. Safety car out which is a bonus for Norris. Why does the SC come out ahead of Verstappen? Force of habit ?!
  19. Got away with it but it did look incredibly dangerous. Could have t-boned Verstappen or Sainz but somehow found the gap between the two!
  20. I'll bottle it What's the tie-breaker if anyone does finish level @Rucksackfranzose?
  21. Game 131 - 25th Game 132 - 33rd
