Maatsen and Sancho had a positive effect on the team? Well, last season they had 67 points and were on 2nd spot after 32 Buli matches - now they have 60 points and are on 5th spot after the same time. Please explain how that is a positive effect? You're  overrating the influence of your Premier League loanies massively.

Last season CL - round of 16

This season - in the final

Without them, they'd have not reached the final

Seems so fucking stupid, their highest points tally in 7 years, clear improvement in the playing staff, quality of football, points on the board.

I remember the season we went up and what I noticed was the difference from the season we lost to Fulham was we drew more of the games we would have lost and won more of the games we would have drawn from the season before. I don’t see how that type of improvement isn’t something Rosenior could do.

    Bizarre isn't it?

It's like Hull's owners are playing FM - just because he didn't reach a target (promotion?) he's deemed to have 'failed' despite getting them on to a positive trajectory.

Along with a couple of other teams already, I'd have had them up for top 6 next season. They play some decent and attractive football and have no problem scoring goals.

  3. Seems harsh on the face of it.

Took them to the brink of play-offs. They were 21st when he took over in Nov 2022 so that's quite an improvement in 18 months...

Hull City have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior, Sky Sports News understands.

The 39-year-old became the boss at the MKM Stadium in November 2022.

He recently signed a new three-year contract in December 2023, which would have kept him at the club until 2026.

Sky Sports News has contacted the club for comment.

Plymouth defeated Hull 1-0 on the final day to retain their Championship status in a result which simultaneously ended the Tigers' play-off hopes.

  4. No change in positions in the bottom 4 but Forest picked up 3 priceless points to create a bit of a gap between themselves and the drop zone. It could even be goal difference that saves them given the difference of 12 between them and Luton, and 18 to Burnley. Luton missed the chance to beat an already-safe Everton, whilst Burnley lost out to a strong Newcastle. Burnley now need to win both their games (one of which is against Forest) and hope that Forest lose vs Chelsea to take it to the final day.

  5. It's heading down to the final day it seems in the race for the title. Arsenal and Man City march on with ease in the race for first, and Tottenham once again will have a say in proceedings in this coming gameweek. It's probably too little too late for Liverpool despite beating Spurs. Despite Villa losing and their form dropping, they look to have secured 4th place thanks to Spurs' even worse form.

The race for European football for one of Newcastle, Chelsea and Man Utd heats up even further - two of the sides had very convincing wins, while Man Utd suffered an embarrassing defeat at Palace to weaken their cause. West Ham played themselves out of European football next season and they are pretty much 'on the beach'.

Exhibit B. We are completely out of form.

4pts from our last 6 games. Out of all the playoff teams, our form has dropped off a cliff. It's very hard to win tje playoffs coming in completely cold to not winning games. Confidence is low.

I was looking at this the other day for Luton & Forest, but went back a bit further to see if form does actually have a bearing on who eventually wins the play-offs...

    22/23 Luton last 6 form - won 3, drew 3

    21/22 Forest last 6 - won 4, drew 1, lost 1

    20/21 - Brentford last 6 - won 4, drew 2

    19/20 - Fulham last 6 - won 4, drew 2

    18/19 Villa last 6 - won 4, drew 1, lost 1

Point being that any 4 of you are screwed basing it on form xD. All 4 teams are in the bottom half for the last 5 form table. Norwich 12th, Southampton 13th, West Brom 16th and Leeds 22nd. I hope it's not a sign of things to come in terms of quality of the games...

  7. I think Leeds will overcome their 'choker/bottler' tag this time round.

Southampton are the most formidable of the remaining 3, but even so I think they'll beat them in the final if they both get there, and I think they both will.

Norwich are bit hit and miss, as are West Brom. They're the kinds of teams that when they're on it, they can just overcome teams with ease, but those kinds of days haven't been consistent enough and they can chuck in a stinker of a game or result. Leeds and Southampton on the other hand can be much more 'on it'.

Manged to buy a tiger bread type baguette today, cut it into slices, heavily buttered, added some goats cheese on top, then added a slice of salami and chorizo before topping it with a tomato slice seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil and red wine vinegar. Pretty fucking nice, even if tomato's are shit in this country

    tiger bread is underrated
