  2. PEP THANKS BOARD FOR LANDING BERNARDO Pep Guardiola has thanked the Manchester City board for all their work in helping to secure the summer signing of Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder emerged as one of European football's most sought-after players last season during Monaco's march to the French league title and semi-finals of the Champions League. And the 22-year-old subsequently became the first of City's summer signings, signing a five-year contract with the Club. Having linked up with his new team-mates last week after being on international duty with Portugal earlier this summer, Bernardo made his City debut in last Friday's 3-0 pre-season win over West Ham in Iceland, coming on as a second half substitute. And as the build-up to Saturday's Premier League opener away at Brighton continues, Guardiola revealed how grateful he was to the City board for their work in clinching the signing of Bernardo. "I'm so grateful - thanks so much to the club for picking him up," said the City manager. "Bernardo played his first minutes and he was immediately ready to play. Intelligent players don't need time to be involved in the way we want to play. "Bernardo is a guy who loves football, who lives 24 hours thinking about the game. I like that. He is a humble guy - he's so intelligent, which is a huge quality. Close to the box he has the quality to score a lot of goals and he's a fighter too so he's going to help us during the season." https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2017/august/pep-guardiola-praise-for-bernardo-silva-signing
  3. That Sturridge goal is something else. He's talented enough to compete for the European golden boot but unfortunately his body didn't/doesn't let him.
  4. Led Zeppelin revisited. Amazing album. Rare to hear this kind of sound that's not out of the prog rock movement in the 60's.
  5. Better as in would beat them in a CL/EL play off... probably, but playing for a Premier League mid table club is at least as demanding as playing for one of Portugal's top 3, because in the PL you face tougher opposition most weekends. The rhythm is also higher in the PL.
  6. Doesn't have a place in our squad but good enough for NUFC or Watford? He's unbelievably quick when he wants to be but most of the time he's as sluggish as they get.
  7. AC/DC, surf, desert, kangaroo, koala. My work here is done.
  8. I think he's got everything it takes but at Benfica it's very easy to shine and look like a superior class player these days. Any player will look good playing for us, specially domestically. (Look at what happened to our defence this summer... it's almost all gone. Only Grimaldo left and being a La Masia product he won't stay for long here.) This is relevant because by watching him during last season, I wouldn't hold back in saying that he's one of the top 5 right backs in Europe, but after watching him play for the NT, I'm not sure he can perform at his best level for any side. He looked nervous and out of his depth in the confed cup and even before that, unlike for Benfica where he looked 10x the player. But like I said, he's got everything: pace, dribble, passing ability and defensive awareness. It would be great to see him do well. I know anyone can look world class on youtube but this is a good sample of what he can do
  9. I bet it will be around €30M + some player or some weird clauses.
  10. Am I the only one who sees Giroud not looking happy at all in that clip?
  11. To be fair what Teso does is no worse than what the Barcelona fans, followers and sympathizers at TF do in the Real Madrid/Ronaldo related threats. Those threads were toxic before Teso was even around. Soft-pedal it and have some of your own medicine will you...

    Tennis

Not much between Murray and Stan imo. Murray better on the net and the most consistent of the two. Stan peaked too late in his career.
  14. Odd. He isn't that old really, for today's standards.

Most meat is disgusting. I still eat it (mostly chicken) but way less than I did 5 years ago. I'll definitely quit sooner or later. Fucking dead animal...
