  1. I'd say it's epic. In the same way the Lord of the Rings, titanic and Ben Hur are epic... It's the most epic, grandest show of all time. But the wire is the greatest show of all time. Like the beatles vs elvis, the wire is less decadent, but near perfect in terms of quality...
  2. Nobody will believe Sam anyway. And you could accomplish the same plot device by just having bran see the wedding it in a vision.
  3. I think all but Gendry and Jon will die.
  4. Hmmn. Plenty of linking being done there but overall a bit to take the story forward and some bits to just grit your teeth and put up with. Jamie and Bron not only not dying but not even getting captured despite Dany and Tyrion seeing him there about to kill her... That's close to the biggest stretch of plausibility in the show to date. I expected better. Also this hair brained scheme to capture a wight walker seems pretty unnecessary and having the potential to somehow get cerseo to listen and agree to a truce with dany? Disappointing that Sam's trip to the citadel yielded so little. It had so much potential. I hope it is more fruitful in the books. Also a bit annoying that master genius Littlefinger has figured out Arya completely but plenty of signs in that episode that she's still woefully ignorant and too much of an open book so i cant say I'm surprised.
  5. GoT could make so much more money than it does. It's movie quality. I'd pay 100 bucks for a season.
  6. I've done a few seasons but felt it may have been heading off the boiler and haven't watched in a couple years. Are the more recent seasons worth a watch?
  7. She's like 19 or 20.... only one year younger than Sansa mate.
  8. https://m.bbc.com/sport/football/40897688 We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho. The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.." I rest my case. This is the type of definitive statement I'd been looking for all along.... Breathe easy lads.
  9. I feel like you've become more convinced of a deal at the same time I've gone the opposite way. There still has been no convincing support on the move from the inside sources and although i don't doubt Phil wants the move i think he's also the type to appreciate that his time hasn't come yet. Next year is a certainty but this year he is required at Liverpool.
  10. An "I don't know what they're smoking down there at the camp nou" from Henry would have been nice.
  11. We should have been way clearer that we would not sell coutinho. John Henry and Klopp both come out and very clearly and convincingly make clear they won't sell. The headlines have had a negative effect on morale and expectations prior to season start and we should have done more to stop them. We have added basically no depth this summer and we have another 10 games to play than last year. We need bodies.
  12. Don't know wtf you guys are on about... 7/10. Would tap.
  13. 2. Tyrion was urging her to install a blockade of kings landing. That was the plan he was counseling. So where she struck is exactly the place to strike to cut off the food supply coming up from the reach. At this point i think her move was consistent with that plan albeit a little more aggressive. Will be interesting to see what they say to jamie next episode assuming he's captured. 5. I took it as fact that Littlefinger was the owner of the dagger and the one who set the assassin in the first place... I've always assumed it was his dagger originally and his claim that he lost it to tyrion in a very was actually the other way round....
  14. Random thoughts 1. You'd imagine John will bond with Rhaegal, the dragon named after his father. At this stage I'm not sure i get what will happen for people to come to see John as the true targaryen king. Bran is most likely source of truth but i cant see a way bran would do it and get the word out. Bonding with a dragon on dragonstone with Davos and Theon it will give some cause for suspicion but i still don't see how it will come out there either. Melisandre has already left otherwise she'd be a possibility. 2. On another note would you say that Dany totally ignored jons advice when she asked whether she should attack kings landing? Was this assault a strategic blow or is this her just going conquest mad and ignoring everyone's advice with kings landing next thing in her sights? 3. Dany has been the biggest disappointment so far. Totally lost perspective and needs to be snapped out of it. Who will give her the push she needs? Ser Jorah Mormont? 4. Arya fighting Brienne was close to the most joyous moment in the series for me.... 5. Nice to see Bran be less of a total dick this episode. It's been a long time coming.
  15. I just thought he had to try it since she was there for the taking...
  16. Now that's what I'm talking about! Loved every second of that episode. Absolutely amazing.
  17. This guy absolutely perfectly nails this Australian stereotype. Love him!
  18. PSG should give Neymar to charity. He could wipe out world hunger.
  19. Yep and because the movement needs publicity to succeed.
  20. Tarlys turn is at odds with his book self but i guess i can accept that the 1 minute of show air time he'd got before dumping on the tyrrels graves was not enough to establish him as that same persona.
  21. Yeah let's not forget why jamie killed aerys in the first place... he was going to blow up the stash of wildfire under kings landing rather than let himself be taken down. Then cersei did exactly that and jamie is still banging her?
  22. She is very clearly portrayed as a novice player in the books. Almost pitied by most players such is her predictability. I.e. tyrion, baelish and varys. Good example being the near catastrophic error of judgement to arm the faith in kings landing in book 4. Or her determination to take down their main ally in the tyrells creating an unnecessary war that ultimately destroyed her legacy and leaves the throne without an heir.
  23. Is that where Riverrun is under siege by the Freys and Jamie convinces the blackfish/edmuir to give up the castle? Not sure that's genius but fair point that he's more considered as less temperamental as time wears on.
  24. It was Baelish and Olenna together who planned it and planned to help sansa to escape. In the books the poison was in a stone Sansa wore in her hair and Olenna took it from her hair and put it in the drink. Margaery may also have been in on it. Unsure whether there were two separate plots and whether the Tyrrels wanted Sansa to take the fall for it but baelish got her out of there....
  25. did anyone have any thoughts on why Melissandre and Varys both have to die in Westeros?
