Going to Dubrovnik for a week in May

Degale is shot. Looks like he's going to get mandated to fight Uzcatgegui who will beat him. He needs to try worm out of it and get a unification fight again Groves/Smith for a cash out fight, but it looks like the mandatory will be called before he can.

What's the capacity expected to be increased to? I don't mind the Walkers Bowl, i'd say as bowls go it's one of the better ones for some reason, but it'd be even better if the capacity is increased because then the stands would be un-even with hopefully one monster stand. I'd say late 30k would be about right. Leicester will have captured a generation of supporters in leicester. All them stupid kids that normally grow up supporting Man U and Liverpool will surely have all started supporting Leicester after the Prem win.

My mistake I though step 9 was higher than what it was. Step 9 and 10 clubs around Norfolk and Suffolk all pay, but it would be more like £30-50 a game. Maybe they pay around here because the travelling is so far. The equivalent league around here is the Eastern counties/Thurlow Nunn league which is Norfolk, Suffolk, East Cambridgeshire and North essex so two hour away games and leaving work early on a tuesday etc is common. In Essex or London the clubs would all be within an hour of each other i'd guess? Below is a map of the equivalent league in the country, look at the travelling in Devon and Cornwall, ridiculous.

Yeah, I agree, I'm not sure what the best resolution is. Extending the season wouldn't be fair on their opponents, but not extending it wouldn't be fair on Northwich. If they were on course for mid-table I guess they'd just forfeit a couple of games. At step 9 they're probably paying some players a couple of hundred quid a week or game.
-
Just checked and they've had their game called off today (along with every other game in the league) and they are also meant to play on Wednesday which will be in doubt. They are 10th so have a chance of the play-offs. They must be in danger of not fulfilling their fixtures though,
-
Non-league football, i'm talking about below conference north/south kind of level is really struggling with all these call offs. There's always a backlog of games, but this season it's just unmanageable. I know one local team around here that are playing every saturday and tues/wed till the end of the season and now have two more games to be re-arranged so will have to play two weeks of saturday, tuesday, thursday. I was planning on watching a game today, but as far as I can see everything is off. It's been raining for about 48 hours here.

Rome (and Roma v Juventus on may 13th) and the Amalfi coast in May is the plan, but not booked it yet. Anyone been to the Amalfi coast? heard it's prety expensive. Thinking of going 2 days in Rome and 3-4 on the coast, possibly staying in Praiano- which from what i've read seems the cheaper alternative to the glamorous Postiano, but it's just around the corner.

Price and Povetkin weren't drug tested once before this fight. This sport is a shambles sometimes.
-
I still can't believe Price is going in with Povetkin a truly dangerous mismatch. I saw the head to head yesterday and it's mental how big Price is, but Povetkin KO is the only outcome. I hope Price lets his hands go, he's going to gas after 3 rounds so he needs to let his hands go and hope he lands a lucky shot. Price fights are always interesting because there's the 'what if' Price does land that right hand. Anyway, it'll still be Povetkin KO. Joshua KO as well mid-rounds. I think Parker can make Joshua miss and can land punches himself as he has the faster hand speed, but he doesn't have enough power to trouble Joshua and at some point Joshua will land a few combinations clean and end it. Remember, Parker struggled past Hughie Fury and arguably even lost the fight! He also only beat Ruiz on a MD

Type 'journalist' into the search bar on the homepage. It's worth a giggle. You should get 'As a journalist' tattooed on your forehead @Blue

He's lost it. Brilliant. When Man U fans eventually turn on him, it will be amazing. I can't wait. Hopefully a few more shit seasons first though.

I used to spend hours on Ceaser 3 and age of empires. Quality games. And then command and conquerer tiberian son too. Very addictive games. I would’ve been pretty young then too, PC strategy games are real lost gems.

Walsall cost me £150 on saturday. They lost 3-0 at home to bottom of the league rochdale and missed a pen

I never knew lucozade was so old. My grandparents drink it when they're sick and i've always thought it was strange but now I know why. I thought Lucozade came out in the 90s or something because i've been brought up with it being a 'sports drink'. Lucozade is fucking great and i'm seething that they've reduced the sugar content. It is or at least was amazing for hangovers.

Haha bollocks. What team @Blue Massive job even in grass roots football

Brook has one good win, Porter, in a 35 fight career. Pathetic. He's so talented, but stalled for years chasing Khan. He turned down fights with Cotto and Bundrage years ago. His IBF reign of terror Gavin, Dan, Bizier was pathetic. Even now in his post fight interview all he talks about is Khan. I don't see how that fight happens. Kel can't surely can't go back down to 147 and Khan won't go up to 154 because that'll give Kel the advantage? I do actually like Kel, I just think he's criminally underachieved so far and I wish he would get on with his own career and stop chasing Khan. They dodged the Charlo questions well, no chance that happens. Another bum in June (likewise for Khan) is my prediction. The Brook v Khan fight wouldn't be nowhere near as big as it was 5 years ago, both suffered a few KO losses. It would probably sell out Brammel Lane, but at one stage it was an Old Trafford or maybe even Wembley fight.

This is quite apt @Teso dos Bichos. Thoughts on dodgy cow meat your boy has been eating? Sounds a little suspect! GGG is fighting the world. A drugged up mexican, the judges.... the list goes on. https://www.tmz.com/2018/03/05/canelo-alverez-peds-gennady-golovkin-clenbuterol-boxing/

That exploded into a good fight. Wilder shows he has a chin and heart, but there's still the same questions over his technique, surely when he throws them wild swings Joshua or Fury would land.I think Joshua KOs him as well but would always have the feeling that a Wilder right hand could KO Joshua so it would be an intriguing fight. If he ever comes back to the same level he was at before Fury plays with Wilder, Wilder wouldn't even be able to get into range. I don't think it changes much in the odds or negotiations,, Joshua favourite but Wilder has the right hand sill. I think Wilder answered a few questions to some extent (chin, heart) but there's the same questions over his technique and boxing ability and we still know he has that killer right hand. Ortiz was a bit of a bogey man, we don't really know how good he is. If he fights Joshua he will be far too small as well. How are his legs so skinny? He needs to get on that AJ juice. He would be giving away over 2 stone as it stands

Decent night of boxing. Feel for Dave Allen. Brook KO against a poor opponent likewse Josh Taylor. Had a few quid on Gavin Mc v Yafai to go the distance and Brook KO in a double and then a small bet on Brook in rounds 1-4. I think i've got about £15 in total now in Wilder KO in rounds 1-4. I did it straight and also in a double with Thomas on points which was voided. A Wilder KO early would leave my skybet balance looking healthy for the first time in forever. I can't be arsed to stay up for it, will watch it in the morning.
-
Yeah agree this should be easy work for Brook. I think he’s pretty exciting. I’d say he’s a world level fighter but will come short against the elite guys. This fight is for a WBC trinket, Charlo is the WBC champ, that’s a recipie for disaster, he will break them eye sockets again. gutted for Dave Allen. Gavin McDonell winning this comfortably on points for me.
-
I think a couple of years ago it would've been a live fight, but Ortiz looks fucking old. There has always been rumours about him being older than he is, he also wore a glove on one hand during the press conference (hand injury?) and then there's the PEDs he has been caught doing twice, so we've got to assume he's not on them this time so might not be the same fighter? Finally, the boxing circles love a conspiracy theory and i'm not totally buying into this but why would Wilder risk a mega money fight with Joshua to fight a potentially dangerous Ortiz? There just seems something fishy about this and as such i've gone for Wilder stoppage which will build the Joshua fight more. I also don't rate Wilder as a boxer but he does seem to have fucking legit power.
-
What a weekend of boxing ahead. Brook should win, but after two broken eyes sockets the fight has interest, Yafai v G McDonnell is close to a 50/50, Allen v Thomas will probably be shit but another 50/50. Wilder v Ortiz is interesting as well although I think Ortiz is over the hill (he must be about 50). Then we also have Kovalev returning and the Channel 5 card with the best prospect in British boxing Josh Taylor. Dave Allen is in shape, but so is Lenroy Thomas. I've had a dabble on Thomas on points at 9/2, there is so much value in that. It's a 50/50 and neither boxer is going to KO the other one, it's just the Brits putting money on Allen which has shortened the odds. I've also put it in a double with Wilder to win inside 4 rounds which is 35/1.
