  3. I was shocked yesterday to discover that the Southport guy was born in Cardiff and not in fact a migrant who arrived in a small boat over the channel after the scum with the Reform UK logo as their Twitter profile picture immediately insisted in an attempt to bolster their politics and turn the UK into even more of a cesspit of racism. Humans have had millenia to develop and evolve and yet there's still a huge number of us more interested in scoring points for their agenda when something like this happens when the only normal reaction is to express sympathy with the victims and see if there's anything you can do to help the local community. Those trying to spread the lie that it was another Islamist migrant or whatever are animals. Making claims like these to spread hate and division should be criminalised.
  4. Perez keeps his seat until the end of the year apparently. Their academy production line has really dried up. It's a bit harsh on Tsunoda in my opinion not to give him a chance. I don't think he has the temperament to cope in that team but I also don't see what else he's supposed to do in the junior team to prove himself at least good enough to be "the other driver" in a top team if not the team leader. There's a reason Ferrari and Mercedes aren't linked with him though I suppose.
  5. He'll surely be disappointed with that when Mercedes still don't have a driver and Red Bull will have either Perez, Ricciardo or Tsunoda in one of their seats.
  6. The penultimate episode of the season was good.
  7. It's all a ruse. This information was available months ago but Labour have basically pretended to ignore it so that they could promise not to raise taxes during the election campaign, then go "oh my god we didn't know we were this short of money, we're going to have to raise taxes".
  8. Lewis is the first person other than Max to win two races this season. True greatness always rises to the top .
  9. All of them are refreshingly far from perfect right now. You could make a case for any of them except probably Piastri who needs a bit longer to get on that top level. Russell facing DSQ .
  10. George is the first person other than Max to win multiple races this season. Mercedes have more wins than Mclaren too. It goes to show how many mis-steps Mclaren have made and what a polished operation Mercedes and their drivers are when it comes to converting competitive pace to race victories. It will now be a huge failure from Mclaren if they don't win the Constructors, and to be honest they and Norris have bungled a genuine opportunity to win the Drivers Championship this year. They have the fastest car while Max is regularly finishing off the podium. Norris should handily out-score Max in the last 10 races. He should be chasing down a gap of 30-40 points instead of a gap of 70+.
  11. Wow, the absolute grapes on Russell going for the one stop and pulling it off .
  12. Norris once again has seemed to manage to make all of the small mistakes he needed to avoid to end up in contention.
  13. Ferrari actually looked alright in dry Practice, better than Mercedes. Mclaren were fastest yesterday and should be looking for a double podium again. Leclerc has a chance of a podium. Max will probably get into the top three and may even win this one. I'd be surprised if Perez managed better than about 5th even with the front row start.
  14. Leclerc/Perez front row just like everyone predicted .
  15. Pre season was planned while the ownership was still completely unknown. During the "everyone except Moshiri knows that 777 isn't happening" phase. All the budgets were basically completely unknown so there were no contract offers or money committed to anything. The club seemed to spark back into life after Moshiri sacked off 777 and started listening to other offers. That's when Gueye, Young and Coleman finally had their 1 year extensions activated but it was too late by then to organise anything for pre-season.
  16. Good options for us in attack now - McNeil, Harrison, Doucoure, Ndiaye, Lindstrom with Gnonto possibly yet to come.
  17. The only events they have before the opening ceremony are the group stages of the likes of football and rugby sevens. No medals have been given out before today. Obviously less than ideal but I think it's an issue of logistics. I've seen the usual debate here and elsewhere about whether or not the likes of football or tennis should be in the Olympics. Personally I think the more sports and sportspeople that are included, the better. I don't think the extra sports are harming anyone. I wasn't a huge fan of the opening ceremony. I assume some of the stuff appealed to someone somewhere. The sport is underway now anyway so I'm haply.

  22. Can you really accuse a person of being homophobic though when the factors that have led them there are cultural and religious beliefs from where they grew up? It's probably a dangerous can of worms to open because most people who are homophobic, sexist, racist, etc. can probably point to environmental factors beyond their control rather than it being a case that they're fundamentally bad or intolerant people. Should Sarr and Gueye know better? Probably. They've spent most of their adult lives in European countries where they'll have been exposed to open-minded societies to act as a counter to the cultural and religious influences of their youth. I'm just always conscious that it's easy for me to point at homophobes and racists from other cultures when I've grown up in a liberal democracy with normal parents. Yes you should be able to think for yourself by the time you reach adulthood but it also might not be easy to, for example, go onto a football pitch wearing rainbow laces if you know your parents, uncles and aunties back home would be ashamed of you for it. Probably playing a bit of devil's advocate. To be clear, I'm very much not homophobic and people are entitled to feel as strongly as they want about their football club making decisions like this one.
  23. Feels pretty insane that Mercedes could go for a rookie driver and Red Bull could be choosing between proven mid drivers Ricciardo and Tsunoda to partner Max, leaving a very capable race winning driver like Sainz choosing between Alpine, Williams and Sauber. I think the last potential wildcard is if Toto manages to talk Max into ripping up his Red Bull contract and making the change to Mercedes. If that happens then surely Red Bull have to snap up Sainz as their lead driver and partner him with Yuki/Daniel.
  24. Sorry that I haven't got the Hungary results up yet. I'll try to do so before the weekend but I'm super busy at the moment. It may have to be a double update next week!
