  1. This was my reply in 2021. Update 2024: Lost Dark For All Mankind Andor Reservation Dogs Honorable mentions: The Expanse, Westworld, Timeless
  2. I think I was never as uninterested in F1 as I am now, for many different reasons. Hearing that they rejected Andretti's entry is the ultimate proof that they have turned into a proper closed shop for ten teams, where the only change is those teams changing their names and livery to something even more ridiculous every once in a while. No competition, just a perpetual money making machine catering to money launderers, dodgy billionaires, and human rights abusers.
  3. Hope you're feeling better now, John.
  4. I think you're completely ignoring the context here, though. Her answer is to the host's (a man's) question about whether her work, while aiming to empower women, also targets men. To which she replies that yes, she likes to make men uncomfortable, because any significant, long lasting social change can only happen through difficult conversations and uncomfortable realizations. Her goal is not to make men uncomfortable in general because she wants them to be miserable lol, it's to make them see that maybe they themselves have those certain internalized attitudes that are the root of the problem. Which is pretty obvious when you think about the issues that she tackles in her work - women and child abuse, domestic violence, acid attacks and honour killings of women in Pakistan, rights of refugees and marginalized groups, Pakistani boys groomed in Taliban-run schools to carry out attacks against civilians, etc.
  5. Well considering that just her appointment as a director of a Star Wars movie is apparently already making many men uncomfortable, I find this pretty hilarious lol. In all seriousness though, I don't really see a problem with that statement, given the context. As a journalist and filmmaker focusing heavily on women's issues, making some men uncomfortable is always gonna be on her mind. Art is often political, it provokes, challenges the status quo, and ignites conversations. That website is pure AIDS though. "During an appearance at the Women in the World summit alongside fellow insufferable activist and director Ava DuVernay and actress Meryl Streep..." yeah, quality journalism there.
  6. Lol I like how they describe her as just a "Pakistani feminist activist" in that tweet, it's so fucking reductive. She won multiple Oscars and Emmys for directing documentaries, her work in animation has also won awards and was critically acclaimed, and she also directed live action TV show in the Marvel universe. My opinion is that I will give everyone a fair chance and reserve my judgement until after the movie is released, everything else makes no sense whatsoever.
  7. Some via Steam, some via Epic Games... Steam didn't allow me to change my region so I'm a bit annoyed with them, but it led me to using Epic Games more and I found out games I wanted were selling cheaper on there in the first place lol
  8. I got several games during the Christmas sale, too. TheHunter: Call of the Wild, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure (thanks @Tommy), The Expanse: A Telltale Series, Disco Elysium, Assassin's Creed I: Director's Cut, and also installed Palia, a new free MMO game...
  9. How did you like the Budvar, @CaaC (John)?
  10. It's a very nice one! A tasty Czech lager, nothing like its American competitor...
  11. Live footage of @MUFC fighting a croc
  12. I'll need more details. I have to survive 20 minutes WHERE? In their natural habitat? In a room? Just a random encounter in the wilderness?
  13. It was... Probably means we'll have some fun with the answers
  14. Oh look, you're not the last one this time
  15. Sent! Sorry for the delay, completely forgot about it...
  16. My first one was Sagem 939 and man, I loved it. It was a great phone. Would actually love to still have it...
  17. I am trying to do my top 10, but it's hard...so here they are, but in no particular order. Reservation Dogs S3 For All Mankind S4 Deadloch S1 Silo S1 Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2 Warrior S4 Never Have I Ever... S4 Hello Tomorrow! S1 Ted Lasso S3 The Mandalorian S3
  18. I can kinda understand struggling with Silo, it's a bit of a slow burner, but I thought it is very well executed and the story keeps you guessing. And oh man, I love Reservation Dogs! The last season was a bit weaker, at least at the beginning, but they wrapped it up nicely, Season 1 is a true masterpiece, and Season 2 is a great continuation of the story. It might be a totally different culture, but I related so much to the friendship dynamics and the general circumstances of that coming of age story. Also the humour is hilarious.
  19. Happy to see Silo, Deadloch, and Reservation Dogs on the list... I need to continue watching The Bear at some point.
  20. A lovely goal by Njinmah and 7 saves by Zetterer. Good stuff.
  21. No religious reasons, just an internalized secular tradition at this point. Spending time with the ones you love, a reminder of what's important in life. Nothing against a piss up either though
