  1. Maguire, Gallagher and Gomes, probably to a lesser extent Lewis, though there’s at least something behind that and the fact there is only one out and out striker in the side.
  2. So the thing is, do your beans in the Championship, get promoted and then don’t get punished and live happily ever after?
  3. https://x.com/StanCollymore/status/1830629279526498562 Put this in General rather than in the Spanish section because this has potential to be a wider thing than just at the Mestalla.
  4. Yeah, no worries with me whatever you choose.
  5. Carragher and Neville are fucking cretins. Also, Vegemite Tits at Tottenham might be really funny because he’s honest in what he says but he is one fucking honking football manager.
  6. That result is the worst of the lot for Everton despite a couple of hammerings to Brighton and Tottenham. Let’s be honest, both Brighton and Tottenham are better than Everton presently but the manner of the defeat to Bournemouth is going to plunge morale and confidence through the floor.
  7. Dunno if I can have a go because I did one on Tuesday night but if I can:
  8. People would have lost their shit had Southgate named some of those players.
  9. I quite like the look of the draw, possibly because it's new and a bit different. I'm not keen on two extra games compared to the old format, whilst clubs have forced the end of FA Cup replays and managers will moan about too many games or their half a billion pound assembled squad being tired barely a few months after they've spent their summer's ripping people off in America.
  10. Emotional and charged fan reacts. It’s a bit of a non-story really, though some will want to peddle their opinions about Everton, their fans, football fans in general or adult men between the ages of 18-45. That’s no defence of the bloke, either, he shouldn’t be shouting at people in public, regardless of their wealth and/or status. As for Everton, they’re the Tele Football League’s turd that won’t flush. Think Sunderland for the last 3-4 years of their stay in the division, though throw in an even worse owner than Sunderland had. Unlike Sunderland, it feels as though some real financial turbulence could be afoot if this is the year they’re finally flushed.
  11. Dani Parejo misses a penalty in the 100th minute but taps in the rebound from the Celta keepers save and wins it 4-3. Neville would have combust, Carragher would be squealing in an outrageously high pitched Scouse tone at 100 miles an hour and you’d have the “best league in the world” stuff shoved down your throats if this was the Premier League.
  12. Nairn County v BRORA RANGERS - 1/3 at Bet365 (Scottish Highland League, Tuesday 7.45) £20 returns £26.66 Going big because I’m that confident in this coming in.
  13. 3-3. Mingueza picks out Starfelt and we are level again.
  14. Celta 2-1 up to 3-2 down in the blink of an eye. La Liga is great.
  15. I will give it a listen, cheers. Like you, I’m a big fan of Mark, going back to his I Love Betting days, he was always really good to chat to on Twitter and put me on to different bits and pieces.
  16. Top manager, top shagger by all accounts. RIP.
  17. Chesham United v Torquay United - Over 1.5 Goals - 1/5 - WON Welling United v Farnborough - Over 1.5 Goals - 1/4 - WON Stenhousemuir v Cove Rangers - Over 1.5 Goals - 1/6 - WON Doncaster Rovers v Morecambe - Doncaster Rovers - 4/9 - WON Scunthorpe United v Marine, Wealdstone v Oldham Athletic - Over 1.5 Goals Double 1/2 - LOST Queen of the South v Cove Rangers, Annan Athletic v Inverness, Hampton & Richmond v Hornchurch - Over 1.5 Goals - 7/10 - LOST Edinburgh City v Stirling Albion - Over 1.5 Goals - 1/7 - WON 5/7 wins, 71.4% success rate. The two losses when I've backed a double or a treble, which probably shows you I should stick to backing singles. The odds don't bother me, that they're incredibly low but while its early season and teams are putting form together, I'm happy to do that till a point where I can confidently back teams to win outright.
  18. Chesham United v Torquay United - Over 1.5 Goals. 1/5 @ SkyBet Whilst there’s not a lot to go off in terms of form early season, I’m happy to back stuff that will hopefully be small wins.
  19. What’s the podcast mate? Think it would be right up my street by the sounds of it.
  20. Done Doncaster Rovers (vs Morecambe) @ 4/9, Stenhousemuir vs Cove Rangers - Over 1.5 Goals @ 1/6 and Welling United vs Farnborough - Over 1.5 Goals @ 1/4 all as singles. A bit "look at me" as it's half-time but both O1.5 goals come in before the break, with Welling v Farnbrough winning inside 6 minutes. Spreading my stake a bit more this season, based very loosely on risk, both the games with really "poor" odds were backed higher than Doncaster.
  21. Stockport signing Ollie Norwood is a silly, silly signing for League One.
  22. DONCASTER ROVERS vs Morecambe - 4/9 (SkyBet) £10 returns £14.44
  23. As I’ve mentioned up thread, I have a Haringey Borough season ticket. They’re in the eighth tier of English Football, in the Isthmian Division One North, after relegation from the Isthmian Premier last season. Their season kicked off last week and it started much how last season went, with defeat. Basildon United were the hosts and won 1-0. I didn’t go, so no idea how it even went. Today is FA Cup day. Some eighty-ish days since Manchester United won the final at Wembley, the competition is in its second round, the Preliminary Round. Boro’ have Benfleet away, two divisions below them. Prize money for going through is £1,444 with a guarantee of £750 in the next week, rising to £2,250 should they win that game. That sort of money, whilst not even enough to pay a Premier League players wage to have a pee is vital to clubs at that sort of level. Think it will be September now before I get to a game over there.
