  1. In light of the sheer amount of racial abuse that has been highlighted this week (yes, I get that it’s a snowball effect once one has been highlighted in the press), I don’t think there should be any Premier League games this weekend. A statement condemning it and taking a knee has been done. Countless times. It’s changed nothing. A proper protest in this manner about what’s gone on this week reverberates around the planet far quicker and far better than a media graduates three paragraph statement or taking the knee. It’s not a quick fix but I think a line needs to be drawn and this behaviour and the institutions housing these people attacked head on.
  2. We’ll all be appalled that this is happening so much again, we’ll condemn these idiots but we’ll carry on. Nothing will change and then, again, in a month or so’s time when it happens again, we’ll go back to being appalled, we’ll condemn it and then we’ll carry on. Whilst we allow the cycle to continue, change isn’t happening. All these empty gestures haven’t changed and will continue to change nothing.
  3. This generation of footballers will be in wheelchairs by 50 at this rate.
  4. Since my post that you’ve dragged up from 2017, England have played home Internationals away from Wembley at Leicester, Southampton and Elland Road and had been due to play Romania (IIRC) at Aston Villa before the Euros were due to start in 2020. Taking Internationals around the country has worked quite well, from what I’ve read.
  5. I liked it. It wasn’t as good as Des, I thought. That was excellent.
  6. FIFA would be cutting their nose off to spite their face by banning the best players from any future World Cup and we’ve seen how dodgy FIFA are in the past, so they’d cave and count their money. Not that their stance isn’t correct, by distancing themselves from this idea.
  7. I think it’s completely normal to expect something from a side that spend £200m+ in a summer to compliment a good existing playing squad.

Girlfriends Dad died on Thursday night, barely six months after finding out he even had cancer. Fifty years old.
  9. Explosives found now. This is crazy.
  10. Had a £4.03 double on Buckie Thistle (v Albion) and Linlithgow Rose (v Brechin) in the Scottish Cup. It should have returned £56.75 but I cashed out for £41 because Linlithgow had twice been behind and it was 3-2. I also dabble on the Betfair Exchange, primarily laying the draw or laying teams, so ended up about £12 up laying the draw at Dunfermline v Arbroath and Carlisle v Bolton.
  11. Watching The Law Man on Sky Documentaries while I’m trying to wrap presents. Very good so far.
  12. Another announcement at five. Can’t wait for what shithousery this bunch of shithouses are going to throw upon us next.
  13. With large parts of the south east and London in Tier 4, I think it’s inevitable that non-league football round here gets voided. I can’t see clubs wanting to carry on in Tier 3 or 4 round here, though the headache this creates if big parts of the North are in Tier 2 and continuing to play is pretty big.
  14. The disappointing aspect out of all of this is Johnson is still in a job. The contempt shown towards human life in order to keep the wheels of the economy going has been sickening. I’ll be visiting my Mrs’ parents. I’m not going to deny her a last Christmas with her Dad.
  15. If I was one of these old bastards getting the virus, I’d be holding my ear every so often and going “what’s that, I can’t hear you?” to wind up all the fucking idiots that think a chip has been inserted into them.
  16. Reeks of PSG, which would be a match made in heaven between those bastards.
  17. There’s variables though. As well as it not being a penalty at all.
  18. Fucking hell, that’s clutching at straws. Good excuse to dig out VAR though.
  19. Matchday referees judging offsides without any help would result in games lasting hours upon hours and people would whinge that a ninety minute game takes four hours to complete.
  20. If you’re offside, you’re offside. Regardless of by how much. You simply can’t have tolerance on some offences but not others because there’s been a nice goal scored at the end of it. It makes a mockery of the game, the laws and VAR.
