Walker has been consistent for years now. Saying that, if we're talking about Euro 2024 alone then he's been very average. The first 3 games we was all over the show and in the final you can point towards him for both goals. His form in the Euros has been a continuation of his performance in the FA Cup final which again was below the high standards he sets himself. Maybe father time is catching up with him, plus the extra women might be wearing him out.

I never said Kane was a bad player but style wise England would be better without him. With Spain now back on the rise and others like Germany looking to improve. One thing you need at International level is to press high up the field, defend from the front. This can't be done with Kane, it makes it easy for other teams to play out from the back. Him dropping into midfield contributes to the team dropping deep. When he is deep most of the game there is no way out or no outlet. By the next WC he'll be 2 years older and more leggy then he is now. @Mel81x - Was correct in what he said. You could see the different with Watkins just having somebody who can apply pressure higher up the pitch.

Who should the new manager ditch from the current Euro squad? I'd say it's time to move om from Walker, Trippier and Kane.

I think Southgate has missed a trick in not winning a WC or Euros. He certainly has had the luck of the drew in 2 competitions. But during his reign quite a few of the other international sides have been in transition and generally below their usual standards. Anyway, now Newcastle might be able to do what they've always planned to do long-term and get rid off Eddie Howe.

Saka had the beating of their full back. Problem was he was too deep most of the game.

It was just a minor change in the second half which changed the game. In the first half both Spanish wingers stayed out wide. They went on the outside which resulted in a foot race. This suited Walker and Shaw who are both quick. The second half the Spanish wingers started to drift infield and float around more. This made them more difficult to pick up and left Englands midfield outnumbered in the middle. Just a minor change without having to make a substitution.
