Administrator Stan Posted February 6, 2020 Administrator Posted February 6, 2020 Friday 7th February, 2020 Eintracht Frankfurt vs Augsburg, 19.30 Saturday 8th February, 2020 Schalke vs Paderborn Hertha Berlin vs Mainz Freiburg vs Hoffenheim Werder Bremen vs Union Berlin Wolfsburg vs Dusseldorf Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Dortmund, 17.30 Sunday 9th February, 2020 Borussia Monchengladbach vs Koln Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig, 17.00
Administrator Stan Posted February 6, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 6, 2020 1st vs 2nd is the highlight of this weekend's fixtures. 5th vs 3rd could also be quite entertaining especially with Haaland unstoppable. 11th vs 10th on Friday night - both mid-table and a bit inconsistent. 8th vs 7th in the race for Europe. Freiburg winning would add another name in to the hat...
Eco Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Gladbach vs Koln rivalry...fabulous. What a weekend for football.

Meh, it's the "small" Rheinderby Hope we can carry the positive momentum into our match against Wolfsburg. If we play like we did against Frankfurt, perhaps a bit more clinical, and like we played in the 2nd half against Kaiserslautern, we can get a point in Wolfsburg at least.
Michael Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I think anything less than a win at home to Augsburg this evening will be seen as a failure for Eintracht Frankfurt. These are the kind of matches that they need to be winning. We have been so erratic this season, it's time to become more consistent. We disposed of the likes of Bayern and Leipzig this season, so games against Augsburg should really be 3 ensured points. I am not sure what line-up Hutter will play against Augsburg, but he seems to currently prefer having Andre Silva up front as the centre forward. Chandler is also now starting for him and Abraham is expected to be back in defence for us. I can see us scoring more than once against this Augsburg side, but we really need to be careful of their strikers Finnbogason and Niederlechner as they are both very dangerous strikers. A win today will move Frankfurt up to 9th position in the table and if Wolfsburg draw or lose tomorrow, we will remain in 9th place until the next matchday weekend. The Champions League places are realistically out of our reach, but a Europa League place is still within our grasp, we just need to become more consistent and play as well as we did against Bayern more often.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Gonna try and watch tonight's game too. Andre Silva should start. I rate him.

Silva certainly has a lot of talent, that's unquestionable, but he needs to show his skills more often, instead of going completely quite in some matches. Maybe a regular starting place in the team and at the focal point of our attack is just what he needs. With Paciencia and Dost in the team, we certainly have a lot of strong competition in attack. That's why the club thought it best to loan young Joveljic out to Anderlecht, to give him more playing time. Even though Andre Silva is starting up front for us this evening, Paciencia is actually our leading scorer in the Bundesliga so far this season, with 7 goals.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Good save from Trapp to deny Augsburg. Looked cert to be 1-0 to the away side then.

Michael Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I don't think that there is a Bundesliga team that has rotated it's lineup as many times and used as many players as Frankfurt have this season. Kohr and Hinteregger are of course ex-Augsburg players, so it will be interesting to watch and see how they do against their former club.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Frankfurt look a little lost as they stride in to the Augsburg half. They're fine at winning the ball back and comfortable in possession in the defensive and middle thirds but when they get towards the Augsburg area they seem unsure what to do.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 1-0! Chandler! Emphatic finish from a player in good form.

Chandler has been the inform player for us recently. He wasn't even considered at the start of the season, but he has really been playing well in recent matches and he's been popping up with some vital goals for us.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Trapp denies Augsburg again, this time saving from Niederleichner.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Trapp with another important save! 3 in total now to keep out Augsburg.
Michael Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Trapp is a class goalkeeper, he saved us many times last season and he's been terrific since he returned from injury this season.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 Chandler's done it again! Header in off the bar from a corner.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 3-0! Andre Silva gets on the scoresheet with a well placed header. Good positioning from him too. Frankfurt well in control.

Frankfurt well in control. Excellent couple of goals in the space of a few minutes. Chandler proving once again his footballing capabilities and Silva's goal should give him increased confidence. We have taken most of our scoring chances in this match, which is a very good sign.
Michael Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Chandler has now scored 4 goals in 4 games for us in 2020, which is impressive for someone overlooked at the start of the season. While Kostic has had two assists in this match, once again demonstrating his importance to the team.
Moderator Tommy Posted February 7, 2020 Moderator Posted February 7, 2020 Frankfurt beating Red Bull twice, and now Augsburg very comfortable, makes our performance where we almost beat them last week look even more promising.
Administrator Stan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Administrator Posted February 7, 2020 4-0! Kostic rounds off the scoring just before the 90mins are up.
Eco Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Well done to Frankfurt. Would like to see Eintracht in Europe again.
Michael Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Kostic scores the 4th goal and puts the icing on another great performance by him and by Frankfurt in general. I demanded a win against Augsburg and in the end Frankfurt have thrashed them 4-0, so I am a happy chappy right now.
