I'm enjoying it so far (the 'socialise' mission early on was quality) and I do like to drift off to do my own things as well when going from A to B, which is a good sign. The health system isn't quite as bad as I first thought, though still a pain in the ass when goes to extreme lengths (one point where I didn't play dress up and went to the mountains to start a mission and my health core got absolutely destroyed as a result). Thankfully, there is so much food and drink scattered around that it isn't too bad.

Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted February 13, 2019 Subscriber Posted February 13, 2019 So I broke a bone in my foot and had a week off work to bang this bad boy out. The main story was awesome, the gameplay was awesome. I will circle back and play this again soon because theres so much more I could do between hunting, fishing, side quest lines and finish the challenges. I only did about half of that stuff for about 3/4's of the game and then I just went through to finish and see where the story went. I cant recommend it enough the game was a master piece.
Large Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I've got to say that overall I was a little disappointed. It's too slow, and there is far too much bloody horse riding. Graphics are superb, story is good too, but it's one thing having a map that size when you can jump in a car that will travel at 200mph, but when all you have is Mr Ed then...
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted February 14, 2019 Subscriber Posted February 14, 2019 Yeah the one drawback is the size of map with lack of proper travel. BUT if you somehow manage to stay bounty free (pussy) you can use the coach service. For the greatness of every other aspect of the game its worth the travel, plus they packed the map with interactions along the way too that wouldnt find otherwise.

It's basically punishing you for being naughty by taking away your free roam ability. As unrealistic as it is, putting down a camp fire should allow you to move around the map as something that large is just tedious to travel, especially when you are jumped by a gang and killed putting you waaaaaay back. I agree about the coaches at the very least it should have been more lenient like have it no longer active if your bounty hits 250 or 500 because that actually takes work to get it up to that. You get a bounty sneezing in the game so I literally never used the coaches it is dumb. When you die usually you respawn pretty close by I thought? I enjoyed taking on the hoards of bounty hunters and gangs on occasion. The random interactions where a big part of it to though, as I mentioned discovering robbery opportunities or tips from random people etc. I took some screen shots on my ps4; I was doing the outlaw challenges and part way through you have to rob 4 shops in a day i tried to rob a gun store in valentine but the guy pulled a gun so i blew off his head but then I got stuck as law just kept coming into the store after me. I ended up with what had to be nearly 50 dead bodies by both entrances and held out as long as I could. Ended with a 1500$ bounty.

I normally see everything through to the end but I'm a bit deflated with this at the moment. Depends on what you're after, if the meandering pace and lack of action isn't for you then I wouldn't bother, but for the storyline and segue into RDR1 I think the Epilogue is worthwhile, if a bit slow. If the hellishly slow First Chapter didn't kill you then this won't. Not actually played this since the back end of last year. Might give it a go tomorrow but it suffers from what most Rockstar games do after you finish them - a huge map with lots of lovely graphics and scenery but absolutely fuck all to do in it.
