ScoRoss Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Another international break, another game between Israel and Scotland... Who knows what Austria's team will actually look like on Thursday but, if Scotland are to have a chance of qualifying, a minimum of 7 points is required from these three games.

ScoRoss Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Wasn't the worst start for Scotland, but definitely looked far more fragile defensively than recent other games. Robertson and O'Donnell were out of position far more often than we've seen before, but I think that more down to the front three not working well at all and relying on the wing backs to provide more width. For the second Austria goal, Robertson is chasing shadows tracking back and ends up standing about a metre away from Tierney, and neither of them are doing anything defensively for the team. I worry about when this team has to chase a game, that the creativity isn't all there and pushes more players forward. Defensively, they are solid enough in attack vs defence but with counter attacks and defending in transition, its obvious they aren't completely comfortable. The front three on Thursday didn't do much, and Christie looks completely out of form for club and country. Would have probably rather had another mediocre McGregor performance in midfield than the potential, but more infrequent, creativity that he brings. Having McGregor allow McGinn having more freedom to get forward.
Bluebird Hewitt Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Adams has now done more for Scotland than Oli McBurnie.
