Spike
Given his scoring success in Japan, I am surprised @Toinho was never called up to partner Timmy Cahill.
Lucas
Canada. They haven't been to a World Cup in something like the last 8 attempts, only ever appeared once, but have made the third and final stages of qualifying in CONCACAF for the first time in ages. Given the Top 3 qualify and assuming two of those are Mexico and USA as per usual, it leaves them scrapping for a third spot with Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama, a very realistic chance this time round. They have the likes of Bayern's Alphonso Davies, Lille's Jonathan David and Besiktas' Cyle Larin as the main stars of the team, it's probably the best side they have had arguably ever. And the nations excitement in the team is building given the success of the woman's team and the fact they are joint hosts for the World Cup in 2026. Feels like they have some genuine momentum and having just drawn away against the USA the other night, perhaps this is their time.

Although they'll probably leave it to the likes of Bhutan, American Samoa, San Marino and England to call a group of players, who don't win a title, a golden generation. Netherelands: 74 were WC runner ups. 76 were 3rd at the Euros. Belgium: 18 - 3rd at WC And best ever at Euros is the quarter finals. Both poor, but Belgium has to be one of the most talented teams to achieve squat.
