Cicero Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 About fucking time. The Premier League has announced the 2023-24 campaign will include a mid-season break. Following a number of disrupted campaigns owing to the coronavirus pandemic and the upcoming 2022 World Cup, the competition will return to normality next season. The season is set to begin on August 12 – 76 days after the current campaign finishes – and conclude on May 19, two weeks before the Champions League final at Wembley. A mid-season hiatus will take place early in 2024, with no matches scheduled between January 13 and 20. The Premier League also stated in Tuesday's announcement no two rounds of games will be played within a 48-hour period to avoid congestion around the busy Christmas schedule. https://www.fotmob.com/news/ruuwpvxwnnhhzy38w6p98ovb-Premier-League-to-feature-mid-season-break-in-2023-24
Administrator Stan Posted November 9, 2022 Administrator Posted November 9, 2022 About time? Didn't they do this for the last couple of seasons?
Danny Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 It's mad that it took a pandemic to allow sports science to win a fight against "I want Christmas footy"
OrangeKhrush Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I am fine with a small mindseason break, the players are people to with families and should be given the chance to go to their families instead of be treated like public entertainers.
Dave Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 This is shit. I hate my family and would rather watch football.
