Autographed photo as gift

Hello,

I’m an American who wants to get his brother in law an autographed photo as a Christmas present. 
 

My brother in law resides in the states but is from Léon, 36 years old, a fan of the France national team, and is a history buff. 
 

I don’t want to pick a player who may be controversial. I also think it would be cool to get something that is older and in black and white. Do French fans like Michel Plantini, Just Fontaine, or Raymond Kopa? Who is all around loved by you guys?

I'd say Platini is a very good idea. Maybe Eric Contana? Very controversial, but also very much loved by many.

He has played in the clásicos for 15 years though. 

Luis Suárez has a similar amount in just 5 years.
