How's he bad?

Marseille is also a significantly better move for him than Saudi anyway. A proper club.

His reputation is damaged and since Marseille have very little money it will be a low cost move on middling wages 30K a week type stuff.  In the Saudi league they would have paid him substantially higher.   Those proper clubs are going to be enjoying the talents of some of the best players in the world,  more will keep going that way to.

I think playing in France, while paying less, is still significantly more prestigious than playing in a retirement league.

Let's not pretend we thought highly of Chinese clubs when they attempted the same thing. Or the MLS.

neither China nor the US garnered 3.5bn in commercial revenue either.  Like LIV was supposed to buckle and die the PGA ended up joining because somehow these Arabs know how to make it rain.

Last season was bad for him but the season before he scored 20 goals for Arsenal and Barce.

This could well be a very astute signing for Marseille, he has long been one of the best strikers in the world, just slowing down a bit in recent years

I think he is suited to the French league as the standard is much lower
