His reputation is damaged and since Marseille have very little money it will be a low cost move on middling wages 30K a week type stuff. In the Saudi league they would have paid him substantially higher. Those proper clubs are going to be enjoying the talents of some of the best players in the world, more will keep going that way to. I think playing in France, while paying less, is still significantly more prestigious than playing in a retirement league.
