Administrator Stan Posted August 29, 2023 Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2023 Why are Chelsea now hoarding midfielders/attacking midfielders? Sterling, Madueke, Mudryk, Fernandez, Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu, Gallagher, Caicedo, Lavia. I know some are slightly more defensive than others, but do they really need Smith-Rowe? They're also linked with Raphinha and Ferran Torres... Quote Chelsea are considering a late move for Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe and Barcelona pair Raphinha and Ferran Torres. The Blues have already spent around £350million this summer and around £900m in total under big-spending chairman Todd Boehly since his arrival in May 2022. Despite all these additions, the west London side look light going forwards. And as reported in Monday's Transfer Confidential column from Mail Sport's transfer guru Simon Jones, Boehly, Pochettino and Co are weighing up imminent moves for Smith Rowe. Raphinha and Ferran Torres Smith Rowe, 23, endured an injury-hit season in 2022-23 and has not yet played a single minute in the Premier League for the Gunners this campaign. Cicero
Think there's a 50/50 chance we bring someone in, or at the very least a loan. Injuries keep piling up and the club are being proactive about that but it's going to come to a point where we are going to have an inflated squad again. Poch trusted Maatsen all preseason so I'm confused as to why he isn't an option.
