Joel Pohjanpalo - Venezia to Werder Bremen?

Joel Pohjanpalo is rumoured to be wanted by Werder Bremen as a replacement for Fullkrug who has left Werder for Dortmund. The Finnish international striker was the 2nd top scorer in Serie B for Venezia last season and he was also the player among those with the most assists in the league as well. He joined Venezia only at the start of last season and it's fair to say that his one year at Venezia has been a huge success. He has also scored 14 international goals for the Finland national team as well, so far in his career. The most famous of those international goals, was the diving headed goal he scored against Denmark at Euro 2020, which inspired Finland to a 1-0 win over Denmark. Despite having a career blighted by injuries, he has always scored plenty of goals for the clubs he has played for, when he has been fit.

He loved the Düsseldorf nightlife and was a regular at all the prestigious nightclubs, which often got him into trouble.

To be fair, to call scoring 6 goals in 19 matches for Union Berlin plenty is a bit of a stretch, as is the 5 goals he scored in 22 matches for Aalen. Actually looking at his stats the only stations were he scored plenty were Venezia in Serie B, Caykur Rizespor in Turkey and Klubi 04 in Kakkonen (Finnish third tier).

I don't mind Pohjanpalo, but I don't think this rumour is serious.

According to the leaks, we're still looking to sign 3 players today - a forward, a midfielder, and a defender. Whether that happens or not is yet to be seen. 

Southampton's Mara is one of the rumoured ones, and weirdly enough, so is Jovic. I also heard Odgaard's name being thrown into the mix.
