MUFC Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Why is the race 6.00am UK when the other GP in USA is 8.00pm UK time?

Moderator Tommy Posted November 17, 2023 Moderator Posted November 17, 2023 So FP2 had to be delayed and they made it 90 minutes because of the short FP2. So they'll actually do FP2 until 4 in the morning local time.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 17, 2023 Subscriber Posted November 17, 2023 I, for one, am shocked and surprised that F1's latest foray into becoming even more commercialised has so far been an absolute shambles. You're hosting a motor race. All that time and money put into the light shows and opening ceremonies and Netflix specials for this Grand Prix could have gone into actually ensuring the track was fit for purpose. I'm actually glad that they've totally embarrassed themselves so far and I hope the race is shite, which it will be because all of the overtaking is going to happen down that ridiculously long straight which is so wide and long that it's going to be impossible to defend in any way, meaning that nobody will try moves elsewhere in the track, and any faster drivers will just follow the car in front for a lap before driving past (I'm not calling it overtaking) them on that back straight. At least Miami, Saudi Arabia and the other commercially-driven events have managed to put on a competent show. F1 deserves this shambles though for the way they've been running the show in recent years. The fans who have paid to go and see a Grand Prix (a fucking lot in this case) deserve their money back.
MUFC Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 I hope for some reason that this shit show doesn't go ahead.
MUFC Posted November 18, 2023 Author Posted November 18, 2023 @Tommy I predicted Charles for pole. An early 5 points in our relegation battle.

Moderator Tommy Posted November 18, 2023 Moderator Posted November 18, 2023 I watched Quali from bed earlier today. I really thought Las Vegas would be pretty to look at, but it's ugly as fuck. Just tall building after tall building.

MUFC Posted November 18, 2023 Author Posted November 18, 2023 Got a sneaky strange feeling that Russell might win this race.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 18, 2023 Subscriber Posted November 18, 2023 Yeah fair play to those who predicted the Leclerc pole, especially @MUFC who waited until after FP3 to make his predictions at what must have been about 5:30am for him . Commitment that.

MUFC Posted November 18, 2023 Author Posted November 18, 2023 We're used to track temperatures of 45 degrees. This weekend it's been round 15 degrees. It might make the race interesting with the unexpected. Fuck it, I've set my alarm for 4.00am. It starts at 6.00am but I'll have a coffee and a few muffins on my cheat day Sunday.

MUFC Posted November 19, 2023 Author Posted November 19, 2023 Another poor start from Charles when on pole.
