Not old enough to have seen Turek or Stuhlfauth myself. Maier is a special case, since I still was a child when I watched him, and since he was graced to play in what was argueably the best team Germany ever had.ย Kahn you may remember yourself, I suppose. As for Schumacher and Stein: Those two were most likely the 2 very best keepers of the 80's. It's a bit of an irony that none of them was undisputed as our first choice national keeper, since both of them would have been easily the keeper number 1 in everyย other country. Only issue was that one keeper, who was on the same standard as themselfes had the same nationality.. Although it's completely his own fault and down to him exclusively, it's a bit sad the first thing people associate with Schumacher is that WC 82 foul on Battiston instead of how world class a goali he was. 1 Quote
