Dave Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Any Arsenal fans who arrived at the Emirates early on Thursday evening got an unexpected treat when long-term absentee Santi Cazorla was spotted training on the pitch. The Spaniard has not played for the Gunners since October 2016 after a horrific Achilles injury that required 10 operations and a skin graft, with some fears that he might never play again.
Administrator Stan Posted April 26, 2018 Administrator Posted April 26, 2018 10 ops and a skin graft wtf . Is it even his foot any more? Reminded me of this...
6666 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 He's had to go through a lot with this injury. Would be great to see this genius back playing football even if it's somewhere else.
Marc Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I don't often feel for footballers, but 10 operations is fucking grim. Fair play for him for not retiring. I sadly can't see him returning at the top level after that any operations and length of time out of the game.
SirBalon Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 What happened to him is still rather odd and confusing. Even he himself in many interviews he's had in the Spanish media looks to be confused as to how it all got out of hand with those injuries and he always seemed to be holding back on telling all. Anyway... Would be great to see him back as class never dies but he has been out of the game for quite some time now.

Arsenal seem to have a lot of players going through this, to the point of near retirement. Is your medical team upto it?

Is your medical team upto it? I've seen this at other clubs in the past and although nothing is ever proved concrete, it does leave questions and it can't just be coincidence. There have been many long term injuries at Arsenal over the past 10 years or so and it has been part of the reason (not solely) why we haven't been able to maintain regularity in terms of competitiveness.
Guest Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I think if a team continually gets a lot of injuries it has to he something at the club.
Dave Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla hopes to be able to play again before the end of the season. The 33-year-old has not featured for the Gunners since October 2016 because of an Achilles problem which needed several surgeries, including a skin graft from his arm. Cazorla, though, has been stepping up his rehabilitation and did some training out on the Emirates Stadium pitch ahead of last week's Europa League first leg against Atletico Madrid.
