MUFC
Thought after 2017 and 2018 the Mercedes years of 2014-2016, Ferrari 5 on the bounce etc were gone. Ferrari have screwed up with car design, main difference this year is Merc is that they are better on the slower corners where as Ferrari have gone backwards in this department. Usually I watch the build-up for practice, qualifying and the race. During the formation lap my heart is pounding, this season over the last 4 races the buzz has gone, I start watching practice halfway through and qualy and race 10 minutes before it starts. Are Ferrari already working on next seasons car?

As I said somewhere else before, I don't really even mind one team dominating; it's been pretty much the case throughout the history of F1. The difference though, as you said, is that in the 90s and early 2000s it was still entertaining due to numerous reasons - for me the biggest difference (including everything else you mentioned already) is probably the fact that the cars were much simpler and the driver had much more control and there were less regulations. Don't get me wrong - I love technical progress and innovation and I'm always very excited to see new engineering solutions to make a car as fast as possible, but it shouldn't come at the expense of actual racing and driver skills. Maybe it's just me, but the whole idea that a driver now has to ask his garage to give him more power or has to receive extensive instructions on what mode to turn on/off and how to press certain buttons on the steering wheel in certain order to get the car working best is just completely ridiculous. It seems they regulated the racing part away from the race. Problem is unless Ferrari improve like the previous 2 seasons and RB dramatically improve next season. 2020 could be like this one, and if the regulations don't shake things up it could be another step back. It depends on what regulations do the teams agree upon... If it's promising changes then I'd take one more dull season until the new regs get implemented. It's a good sign that they finally started consulting drivers on the new rules changes as well.

If you took Merc out this season, imagine there was no Lewis or Bottas, the races would be better. In fact between 3rd and 5th, is nothing much in it. Eco
Watched the race late last night. Shame about Danny, although expected after what I saw happen in Canada.

To be fair though, contrary to what happened in Canada, both Ricciardo's penalties are not controversial at all - he left the track and gained an advantage on both occasions and didn't give his gained positions back; that's a clear penalty in pretty much all racing series. The problem is FIA's inconsistent dealing with it throughout the years. Also bring back gravel traps instead of parking lot-sized runoff areas and you won't get drivers abusing track limits in the first place... Yeah - I didn't mean that their was controversies, just that if what Vettel did was 'illegal', than certainly what Danny did was as well. Overall, what an boring race up front. The drama with Lando & Renault was the only real excitement that race had. A few more laps would have been interesting as Charles was definitely faster than Bottas at the end.
