Hamilton and Wolff said essentially the same thing after qualifying on Saturday, they were just a little more subtle about it whereas Max was just blunt in a typical dutch manner when asked that question. The whole paddock (especially Mercedes & Red Bull) have long suspected that Ferrari found a way to get around the rules to gain advantage and have been questioning their engine's legality for quite a while now; the latest FIA's technical directive was a direct result of Red Bull officially inquiring if a fuel flow trick (that they suspect Ferrari were using) is allowed and it was explicitly stated to all teams that such a trick would be illegal. Coincidence or not, but Ferrari's advantage seemed to have largely disappeared right after that so it's only natural for people to assume that they were made to stop doing whatever they were doing in previous races after the winter break. It's impossible to know whether that's indeed what happened or if it was just a combination of factors such as older engine, running with more downforce, being unable to get the tyres into the right temperature window and choosing wrong setups, but Red Bull seem to be confident that Ferrari have been found out. If Max has been brought up with his Dad treating him as some sort of 'chosen one' to be the greatest ever then it's no wonder he acts the way he does. It's very hard to warm to him. It's interesting how differently we see and judge people. I personally find it very easy to warm to him; he's flawed but at least he's honest.
