  1. It was a very convincing and impressive performance against a Dinamo Zagreb side who are no mugs. I think there are still some question marks about Bayern's defence, especially when they will come up against top opposition, but they look very strong when they attack.
  2. Salvatore Schillaci, the 1990 World Cup leading scorer has sadly died aged 59. Schillaci was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022 and he has now sadly lost his battle for life to the disease. Schillaci, also known as 'Toto' Schillaci, was an iconic figure of the 1990 World Cup, a tournament that Italy hosted and where the diminutive forward would end up as the leading scorer of the competition. Italy would make the semi-finals of Italia 90, eventually losing to Argentina on penalties. Despite his 6 goals at Italia 90, Schillaci would end up playing only 16 times for the Italian national team throughout his entire international career, and he would only score a total of 7 international goals for Italy(which included the 6 he scored at Italia 90). At club level, Schillaci would play for Juventus and Inter Milan, after starting his club career at hometown club Messina. Towards the end of his footballing career, he had a spell in Japan, with club side Jubilo Iwata. Schillaci will however always be remembered for his exploits at the 1990 World Cup in Italy. I didn't realise that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022, before reading today's sad news and the details of his death. It's another sad death of a player who was an iconic figure of a World Cup. It's sad to hear another famous footballer has passed away so early. R.I.P. Apart from a couple or so minutes right at the start of the 2nd half, it was complete Bayern domination! Bayern were superb and taught an experienced Dinamo Zagreb side a lesson in football today. It's not often we see a 9-2 thrashing in the Champions League and it is a result that Dinamo Zagreb will want to quickly forget.
