  1. It was a tense final and Williams giving Spain at the start of the 2nd half was deserved. Palmer equalising with that lovely strike gave us hope. But ultimately Oyarzabal scored Spain's 2nd goal late in the game to give the Spaniards the win. In truth and looking at it objectively as possible, Spain deserved the win. Pickford kept us in the final with some great saves for large parts of the game and Spain have played excellently throughout the Euros. I think every single match that Spain played in was entertaining. They won all their matches playing enjoyable football and in all honesty I think the best team at the Euros won in the end. So congratulations to the Spanish for a much deserved win, I was impressed by the Spanish right from the start of these Euros. 16 year old Yamal, Dani Olmo, Williams, Fabian, Rodri, Carvajal and Cucurella were all excellent for Spain during the Euros. So yeah, I think the best team deservedly won in the end.
  2. Thank you @Rucksackfranzose, it was interesting predicting the scores and final outcomes at these Euros. It's always tricky gauging outcomes in these types of competitions because of the tough competition, but I am happy that I won in the end. Thank you @Stan as well for running this competition and to everyone else who competed. I personally found it a very entertaining Euros.
  3. Cristiano Ronaldo (39 years old, Portugal), Pepe (41 years old, Portugal), Luka Modric (38 years old, Croatia), Jesus Navas (38 years old, Spain) etc. are all performing for their respective national teams at international level at major competitions. I am sure that James will be fine playing for Colombia at the 2026 World Cup at 35 years of age.
  4. Great goal by Watkins as he saves the day for England!
  5. I get that part, I know that's what he meant, but it's still not a great save in my book. A great save is when you prevent the ball from getting past you, that's what these keepers are paid for. If Dumfries wasn't there to cover his arse, it would have been a certain goal.
  6. I can't believe Lee Dixon said that Verbruggen made a great save with that Foden effort that was cleared off the line. If it was a good save, Verbruggen wouldn't have let the ball go past him and almost cross the line FFS.
  7. That 1st half was the best England have performed throughout these Euros. Foden has been excellent.
  8. Barry Hepburn is the youngest of Scottish footballers contracted to German clubs. It looks like he's not been given his break yet at club level. He spent the 1st half of last season on loan in the Scottish 2nd tier and the 2nd half of the season on loan in the Austrian 2nd tier. I think he needs to spend a full season at 1 club where he can settle properly. But he has played for the Scottish national team at varying youth levels. He still has plenty of time to establish himself as he is at the very start of his career. Burke's problem is that he is not consistent enough and he doesn't always work hard enough for the team. But in terms of natural talent, he is really gifted. He's scored vital goals against clubs like Dortmund and Stuttgart while at Werder Bremen, while he also scored the winning goal for Sheffield United against Manchester United when he played in the Premier League. He was the captain of the Scottish Under 21 team at one point during his career, but his career has not turned out to be as successful as many people in Scotland expected. At 27 years old though, he still has a long footballing career still left. He has played 13 internationals for the Scotland national team and he has 1 goal for them. Fraser Hornby has actually played alongside Burke for the Scotland Under 21 national team. Both were key players in Scotland's 2018 Toulon Tournament team and both players scored in that competition. At 24 years old, Hornby is still a relatively young player, but his career so far has been blighted by injuries. Similar to Burke, Hornby has played in one of the top 5 European leagues, as he played for Reims in the French League for several years, as well as the Bundesliga. But he found most success in the Belgian top division, as he scored many important goals while on loan at Oostende. Hornby really needs to stay away from injuries. If he can go a season without getting a serious injury, we could see the best season yet from the centre-forward. Scott Banks for me though is Scotland's best player in Germany. At only 22 years of age, he has shown some real flashes of brilliance. His season on loan from Crystal Palace to Bradford City was a very successful season for him. However, he was unfortunate last season, as he got a season ending injury while on loan at St. Pauli, which made him miss most of the season. However he returned to play for St. Pauli on the last day of last season and he assisted the goal that clinched promotion for St. Pauli. Scott Banks seems to have so much potential and I think that he is currently probably the best Scottish player in Germany.
  9. Ukraine top England's Under-21 European Championship qualification Group and Ukraine convincingly beat England 3-2 in their group match on neutral territory. Ukraine were better than England in that match and both teams are much better than the rest of the teams in the group. I think we can only judge how good this England team is against the likes of Ukraine and other top teams at Under-21 level. Beating teams like Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg at that age group is not a big deal. Even the Serbian team have not performed well, they drew with Luxembourg and lost to Northern Ireland. I think that Lee Carsley still has a lot to prove. There are some very good players in that England Under-21 team, but it's when Carsley manages to get England beating other top teams at that age level that we can start to judge how good he is.
  10. Frankfurt have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Oscar Hojlund this summer. Report: Frankfurt agree deal to sign Rasmus Højlund's brother (bulinews.com)
  11. A superb performance by Spain, they have been superb throughout the tournament. They've carved every team open that they've faced. They're the best side in terms of performances and they thoroughly deserve their place in the final.
  12. Dani Olmo shoots and scores! Took a deflection on the way but Spain lead! Spain 2-1 France
  13. What a beautiful goal by Yamal! A superb goal by the 16 year old from outside the area and he equalises for Spain! Spain 1-1 France
  14. Not to mention the fact that he's up against Mbappe on that side of the field.
  15. Kolo Muani heads home Mbappe's cross and scores for France! France 1-0 Spain
  16. I said before the Euros that Spain are being very underestimated by people and predicted they'd comfortably beat Croatia when many were saying it would be a tough game. I also believe that Spain have probably played the best football at these Euros so far. But I think that France's strategy of play today will likely get them over the line against Spain. France have not played nearly as stylish football as Spain have played, but I think their rock solid defence and their forward players could work against the Spanish today. So if I had to choose a winner in this tightly contested match, I'd go for France, even though the bookies have Spain as the slight favourites.

Medvedev beat Sinner in 5 sets in the end.

Medvedev is leading Sinner by 2 sets to 1 set in their quarter-final match at Wimbledon. Sinner was a favourite to win the competition this year but he's in grave danger of getting knocked out by the Russian.
  19. If this transfer deal goes through with Zirkzee transferring from Bologna to Manchester United for £34 million, Bayern Munich are reported to be getting £17 million of that transfer fee. This is because Bayern hold a 50% sell on clause from when they sold Zirkzee to Bologna. Not a bad bit of business for Bayern if Zirkzee's transfer to Manchester United does go through. 20. Tuesday 9th July, 2024 Spain 1-1 France, 20.00 Wednesday 10th July, 2024 Netherlands 1-2 England, 21.00
  21. The Dutch were the better side and they deserved to go through in the end. They seem to be good going forward do the Dutch, but defensively they can be got at.
  22. Gakpo will claim the goal! FFS I forgot to sub Gakpo onto my Fantasy football team!
