The Italians also looked impressive it has to be said, even though it was against modest Israel opposition. But the Italians thrashed the Israelis 4-1, which was nonetheless impressive by them. Italy 4-1 Israel -

Ukraine drew 1-1 with the Czech Republic in Poland. Both sides had several key players out through injury, but the draw was a fair result in the end. Cerv scored the Czechs goal, while Dovbyk scored for Ukraine. Ukraine 1-1 Czech Republic -

It was an excellent performance by Germany and it was nice to see Leweling score on his debut. The defence was solid, while the German attack was very creative. It was a well deserved win for Germany. -

Ukraine are leading Georgia 1-0 at half-time in Poland. Mudryk scored Ukraine's goal, as he collected the ball near the left flank, he then went on a slaloming run, where he cut inside and skipped past about 3 challenges, before he shot from outside the area and found the bottom hand corner of the Georgian net. It was a lovely solo goal by Mudryk and no less than Ukraine deserved, as they had the better of the 1st half. Ukraine 1-0 Georgia -
Apart from being a legend in the Bundesliga, Burdenski was also a part of West Germany's 1978 World Cup squad, as well as being a member of West Germany's Euro 1984 squad. Burdenski spent 16 years as goalkeeper for Werder Bremen from 1972 to 1988. It is very sad to hear of his death. R.I.P.

Ex-Blade George Baldock Found Dead in Athens
Michael replied to Stan's topic in The Football League Forum
Very sad, he was only 31 and he's also left a young family behind. R.I.P. -
Neeskens was a key player in that amazing Dutch national side of the 1970's. It's very sad news to hear of his death, he was only 73 and he was still heavily involved in training up-and-coming coaches. R.I.P. Johan Neeskens

The match between Karlsruhe and Darmstadt finishes in a 3-3 draw. Lidberg's goal for Darmstadt, now means that Lidberg is joint leading scorer in the 2 Bundesliga alongside Schalke's Malian forward Moussa Sylla and Karlsruhe's Georgian striker Budu Zivzivadze on 6 goals. Karlsruhe 3-3 Darmstadt
-
Darmstadt have played very well so far today away to Karlsruhe. Lidberg scored yet again in the league this season and the Swede is forming a good forward partnership with Scotsman Fraser Hornby. Hornby assisted Lidberg's goal today and at 2-2, Darmstadt have actually looked the better side so far. Karlsruhe 2-2 Darmstadt

Well of course it's true that the US has bases all around the perimeter of Iran. The US has obviously been keeping an eye on Iran for decades and there have been various stand-offs between the two countries over the years. But that's nothing like what the US could start doing if a full-scale war broke out between Israel and Iran. If a war does break out on a large scale in that region, naturally the whole world will be affected. 32% of the world's oil production comes from that region and other countries like the Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the other Gulf states will be dragged into the conflict. Energy prices in this country are inevitably going to be affected, increasing the cost of living for everyone. If it was just Iran and Israel fighting this war, the odds suggest that the Iranians would win. The Iranians have a much larger population from which they can conscript people. Moreover, Iran has a larger army, a larger air force and a much larger navy than Israel. Furthermore, Iran's hypersonic missiles are a real threat and they are almost impossible for the Israeli defence systems to intercept. Israel also have sophisticated weapons, but Israel are geographically miniscule compared to Iran. But as we all know, it's not going to be just Israel v Iran. The US and potentially other nations are going to back Israel all the way. The degree of US involvement will be the deciding factor on who would win any potential full-scale war between Israel and Iran. It's actually quite mad what's going on around the world these days. We have a full-scale war that's been going on in Ukraine over the past 2 years and now an equally brutal war could kick-off in the Middle East.
-
I think the US will definitely join the war in some form if Israel continually gets hit by missile attacks from Iran. The Americans already assisted the Israelis in shooting down the Iranian missiles. I just hope that we don't join the war on Israel's side. We didn't stop the bombings and massacres in Gaza of the innocent. I think we should stay out of a potential full scale war between Israel and Iran, we should just let them go at it themselves.

I have to agree here, I drove past one of the Israeli protests in London. While I completely empathise with the plight of the captured Israeli hostages, the lack of care by many of these protestors towards the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians is quite shocking. This is where I question the humanity in certain people.

You are inclined to believing the Iranian professor, in that Iran at this stage are not going to back off. If Israel strike Iran with missiles in retaliation, Iran are most likely going to launch another wave of missile attacks on Israel. This has serious implications for the wider region.

Martinez was the man of the match, he made some incredible saves to prevent Bayern Munich from scoring. We have to credit Villa though, as Duran took his chance very well. Neuer should have known better and stayed on his line, but Duran's finish was excellent. That's was a historic win for Villa and they will be delighted with beating Bayern. All of Bayern, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid lost in the Champions League this evening. In fact, all 3 Spanish clubs lost, as Girona also lost their match. So it certainly wasn't a good day for the Spanish teams in the Champions League.

Schalke got an important win away to Preussen Munster and Schalke's Malian forward Moussa Sylla scored both Schalke's goals in their 2-1 win. Sylla is now the joint leading scorer in the 2 Bundesliga so far this season with 6 goals. Sylla, who was the 2nd leading scorer in the French 2nd division(Ligue 2) last season, is again on fire this season, even though he is new to the 2 Bundesliga. However, it really looks like Schalke have got themselves a top forward at this level in 24 year old Moussa Sylla. Preussen Munster 1-2 Schalke

Solanke scores Tottenham's 3rd goal as he tucked home the rebound after the Qarabag keeper could only parry Son's powerful shot from outside the area. Spurs have done well this evening, as they are winning comfortably despite having Dragusin sent off as early as the 9th minute. Tottenham 3-0 Qarabag

Jemelka has equalised for Plzen as he kicked the ball into the back of the Frankfurt net after a terrible mistake by Frankfurt keeper Santos! That goal was deep into injury time and it finishes in a 3-3 draw. Frankfurt will be kicking themselves that they let a 3-1 lead slip and their Brazilian keeper Santos has a lot to answer for, as he was at fault for Plzen's 3rd goal. Eintracht Frankfurt 3-3 Viktoria Plzen
