  1. Sports minister of Russia has refused to recognize Cricket as a sport in the country.

Not enough doping in it for Russian liking but we have match fixing :what:

I hear things from people in Italy that are very close to me and I have been left shocked at what I didn’t know they believed in.

That's so true, sometimes things that you hear on the dinner table whether with a hint of sarcasm really hits you hard, shows what people really believe in.

    That's actually a bad analogy.

Sorry, I would never compare Maradona to Ben Stokes.

    1. Maradona intentionally cheated and never apologised. Stokes incident was a complete freak accident and he still apologised for it.

    2. To label Stokes a cheat, which is effectively what it is with that comparison, would be an insult when you have Australians caught on camera trying to rough up a ball or the 3 Pakistani players spot-fixing, not to mention the biggest cheat of all, Hanse Cronje.

    Analogy taken back

You will never see that Stokes deflection ever again. It was a moment, like Aguero winning the PL title for City in like the last second of the season.

Crickets hand of god but with a bat

  5. I love this fact about Americans that they crave for sports which are part of their culture irrespective of whether others care about it not. Really shows the character of the nation.

Basketball, Ice hockey, baseball, American football all sports only played by some countries seriously but they don't give a fuck.

and here you have India, Pakistan where for some generations field hockey was the first love, but since it didn't had the glamour globally so let's just give up a part of your sporting culture and focus on other sports.

Well, they have several titles with their Handball and Field Hockey national teams, it's just neither Rugby or Cricket are big in Germany. Just because you English have this three as their main sports, doesn't mean this has to be the case for everyone, you see.

It's a big sports participation wise bigger than Rugby and more global as well

  7. As mentioned earlier that Cricket has gained some new nations globally which is great but some countries have also been lost in the wilderness like Zimbabwe, South Africa and Sri Lanka need to address some serious issues with their Cricket. Even i was unsure about our Cricket teams future before this tournament.

and i hope ICC handle Afghanistan and Ireland better than they did with Kenya, they also had a promising start to their Cricketing prospect but their trajectory didn't hit the mark as their early promise to the point that they are now nowhere on competitive level.

When you look at the crowd and reaction from this game it's hardly the case.

Wait til the Ashes comes around then we'll see if you think if cricket isn't taken seriously here.

The other comment is just bizarre. As if Australia, New Zealand or South Africa have no interest in cricket either. Weird.

    They aren't Pakistan like
