Sorry for butting in on your and @Stan's chin wag but I would like to say that my father was English and my mother was Scottish, I was born in England but grew up in Australia when I was 11 until I returned to the UK in 1972, where I joined the army, ended up in Germany and marries a Scot's girl (40 odd years coming up this Dec) and when I was de-mobbed from the army I moved back to Scotland where I have been here ever since.

So, I have more Scottish & Australian than English in my blood so as right of birth I class myself as Scottish on my mother's side, I could have chosen Australian if I wanted as I still have family out there since 1959 but I am happy in classing myself as Scottish.

    No gifs

Yes but that doesn't mean I lose or ignore my heritage :). I class myself as being in the British Asian category.

Thought I'd take this away from the staff change topic...

    @Stick With Azeem

    Why?

Well you have more connection with the place you grew up in right ?

    Nothing serious though !

  5. Amir also announced his retirement from Tests.

I don't mind if he chooses to play little bit of ODIs that is left in him and focusing on T20 leagues as a free agent for the long term.

I've said it before club vs country debate will become a thing in Cricket in near future with the influx of T20 leagues and them having more money and with teams like us or Windies were players are always in a spat with the board focusing on franchise Cricket is a good option than going through all that.

But for someone who should be thankful to be back in the national team even with all the fixing and stuff he just showed no commitment for playing the longer format when he is an important part of the team.

Ireland had one of the best chances ever to win a test against England at Lord's and royally fucked it up.

They managed a ridiculously SHITE score of 38 runs. Madness.

No one has ever won a Test match against England in their maiden tour to the country except your boys ;)

  7. Like the football one thread remember any Cricketers that just disappeared from the scene after making a promising start early on ?

Farveez Maharoof - Sri Lanka, hearing he will be doing commentary today what happened to his playing career

    Fawad Alam - Long story

Some ladies have leaked Imam ul Haq's Whatsapp sexting different women on twitter.

They are linking it to Metoo, doesn't look harassment to me, yes he was cheating but it was consensual flirting

I still don't fully grasp this conflict. Is it just about the US stepping in to kneecap the second biggest player in the middle east to preserve the status quo?

What actual threat do Iran pose, and why is Trump happy to meet with Kim but take such a different approach here?

With Middle East it's always complicated

    - A part of what Batard said, with the Bible belt and their influence in US politics, what we see in US approach towards Middle East has some eschatological desires in its foreign policy for the region.

    - Israel, Saudis regional rivals of Iran and allies of US, it's simple enemy of my friend is an enemy. Why would Saudis buy $$$ dollars of arms from US if they have no regional threat ?

    - To halt the growing influence of China in the region, a short war will hurt ambitions of China in the long run
