  1. It’s MBS’s investment firm buying them, it’s an incredible amount of wealth they’ve got behind them now. It’s a bit different than the Venkys or the guy who sucked the life out of Chalrton. I think it’s more likely the Saudi crown prince follows the blueprint laid by Chelsea, City and PSG. As well as the own experience of his own family member overseeing Sheffield United’s rise from league one to where they are now.
  2. That's a Trump administration tactic. Be incredibly vague on every issue possible, then claim you've been very very clear and it's someone else's fault that nobody knows what the fuck is going on. Wait until the government starts directly contradicting itself then gets indignant that the media says things like "uhh… that's not what you said a few days ago." It's a shame to see a government facing a public health crisis acting like this. But not that surprising.
  3. Yeah in Michigan and a couple of other states protesting governor actions instituted to lock down. The Michigan governor says these protests like likely extended how long the lockdown will last. People are understandably scared in the US right now, a lot of workers were laid off rather than being furloughed. And even if you’re furloughed, it’s not like the UK where you’re getting 80% from your wages. A lot of people are just going to be getting a check for $1200, which won’t cover rent or bills for a month for a lot of people, and even then the IRS rollout of that stimulus has been pretty shit with lots of people reporting issues. Because a lot of people don’t really have any social safety net, especially when their healthcare is tied to employment and they’ve lost their jobs so they only have a limited time on their current plans... I think a lot of pretty desperate people just want things to go back to normal. The thing is everyone wants to go back to normal and it’s not going to happen quickly unless we slow the spread and don’t overwhelm healthcare providers. But I fully understand why some people in the US are feeling desperate, even though I don’t agree with what they’re doing. Honestly though, I don’t know how the people in the US that don’t have the luxury of being able to continue to work from home are really going to cope with this lasting for months. There are so many non-essential workers hit so hard by this who are living paycheck to paycheck. Life as normal has stopped, but bills haven’t.
  4. Jedi Fallen Order was really good. Gotta look on GamePass for something new to play now.
  5. Stick with Steve Bruce & keep shithousing your way up the table. An expensive shithousing machine backed by the Saudi royal family might make you the most hated side in the country. Granted, everyone seems to like Sheffield United and they’re owned by an Al Saud too.
  6. Football journalists can now fear the Khashoggi treatment
  7. Exciting times for Newcastle fans who've had some pretty bitter years. Although, I think it's a bit of a shame Mike Ashley's managed to find a group of people I'd likely find much worse than him to take over the club. However, now the club will finally have hope to match the aspirations they once had in the 90s/00s before they became pretty shite, and if the resources are spent better than Freddy Shepherd pissing away loads of cash... they should be seeing some brighter days ahead once this virus settles down and football is allowed to continue as normal.
  8. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/coronavirus-ecuador-guayaquil-bodies-streets-police-barcelona-a9462246.html?utm_source=reddit.com I hate the Independent most of the time, but this was worth posting - grim scenes from Ecuador. I blame politicians and the media for this, they've dumbed down political discourse into black & white, good v bad type bullshit. And the reality is there's a shitloads of grey area in life - but that's not as easily digestible or easy to sensationalise to make money, so society's kind of been conditioned to ignore grey areas.
  9. Tbf I like it too, I guess I just don’t like people constantly posting it on social media and especially my uncle giving my dad shit not actively doing it because my dad was having a poo. Especially because that cunt talks about the NHS like everyone involved in the health services rapes his wife, but now he’s all about wanting to show his support.
  10. I’m on Jedi Knight. I’ve actually had a much easier time just playing extra defensively though, which makes sense for a Jedi. But I had been wanting to be going crazy on the lightsaber like Darth Maul so hopefully once I learn more cool sword and force tricks that’ll make me the aggressive psychopath Jedi I aspire to be
  11. @Mel81x @nudge ... did either of you find this game to be much tougher combat wise than you were expecting? I’m so shit with the timing of my parrys, which leads to me getting hit way more than I’m anticipating. Tough game. But a good game. If the answer to that question is no, then I just might be a shit Jedi. Did you ever play the Titanfall games (which are also Respawn games)? Titanfall 2 was a game I was sure EA would fill up with their typical anti-consumer bullshit... instead it was just a great game and all the DLC was just cosmetic (and unlockable by just playing the game). I’m going to keep trusting EA games by Respawn until they burn us all by going the route of... every other developer EA took over.
  12. Is Covid19 not all over the fucking media? Or all the deaths in Italy that were pretty much all the news would talk about until it hit the UK & US? I think the 8pm clapping thing was a nice gesture at first, but now I’m seeing it’s just a way for people to record a video of themselves for social media... or for people to neighbor shame (like my cunt uncle giving my dad shit for not clapping last night). It’s a bit rich if you’ve been told “you don’t support the NHS!!!!” when it’s from someone who routinely votes Tory. Oh, now you support the NHS, you fucking twats, is it because now you’re afraid of dying and you want treatment? I hate my fucking uncle
  13. Well I hate the controls, but I really like the game. It’s fun being a Jedi with flashy graphics
  14. I got stuck in Prey so I’ve given up lol. Time to try Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  15. You didn’t post a link? Unless you mean TalkFootball365 is a great site. And then, yeah I’m aware I post here daily.
  16. Yeah, I get that there's better players that probably should be in my XI... but ya know how it goes - I can only really judge things based off what I've seen with my own eyes. And unfortunately, we had much better teams before I was alive compared to after I was alive. Hansen's considered by many to be our best ever centreback by a long, long, long distance - so I'm sure had I seen him, I'd have him in my XI. We can all probably do a "best ever" Liverpool XI that'll have a shitload of the same players - those "legends" that are obviously great because those names come up in so many XIs that were pivotal moments in the club's history and they've etched themselves forever in history as some of the most successful players to play in England while with us. Unfortunately for me, I missed most of that and I think the first year I remember of football is 1993, Fowler's debut season. I think I'd been forced to watch it with my dad probably since I was just an alien-looking-like newborn and I was too young to ever really watch it click, but watching this kid explode onto the scene and just score on everyone was what made it all click with me. So ya know, that's gonna be my first like "starting point" for the Liverpool players/sides I judge.
  17. Tbh I can never keep track of any of the Resident Evils lol
  18. Oh yeah, he should probably be my keeper for the side that includes present day players.
  19. I've been playing Prey. So far it's like BioShock and Dishonored had a baby (the Dishonored connection makes sense, because Arkane studios made Dishonored). I'm trying to beat it before the 15th, when it's off GamePass.
  20. The herd immunity theory sounds good until you hear medical experts say it could take years to develop herd immunity without a vaccine... and then it just sounds like a way to get the world's health services completely overwhelmed.
  21. Reina's easily the best keeper we've had in my lifetime, so I understand why @CaaC (John)'s son put him in. Clemence is before our time. I only caught the tail end of Grobelaar's career. Same with Rush, which is why I've got more fond memories of Robbie Fowler and Gerrard than players like Rush and Barnes, who are some of Liverpool's all time greats (although I think Stevie is too). I'd probably put Grobelaar in over James though tbh. Some good shouts in there though. Hyypia's the best defender I've seen with us (until VVD, but let's see Virgil do it for as long as Big Sami did for us before I say he's better) - sorry Carra. If I were to do one from my lifetime, I'd probably make it. Reina Alexander-Arnold Hyypia Van Dijk Robertson Mascherano Alonso Gerrard Mane Suarez Salah And if I had to leave players we've currently got in the side out, I'd just make a few tweaks... Reina Finnan Hyypia Carragher Aurelio Mascherano Alonso Gerrard McMannaman Torres Suarez Notable absentees that deserve mentions: Fowler, Agger, Skrtel, Kuyt, Riise, Johnson, Sissoko, Gary Mac, Didi Hamman, Luis Garcia, fuckin' Heskey (especially that one season), Berger.
  22. As someone who hates BoJo, fucking hell... I hope he gets better ASAP. I assume if he’s in intensive care he’s either on a ventilator or about to be on one.
  23. I think the club getting the taxpayer to pay for 80% of furloughed staff is an absolute disgrace. It's nice the club will pay the remaining 20%, unlike Levy with Spurs, but it's antithetical to the ethos of our club to have the taxpayer paying when we've got more money than most clubs and most clubs have shitloads of cash.
