You've conflated the two? Chelsea are the selling club. They're the ones who set the price of their asset. PSG are the buying club. Newcastle want more than £60m which is their prerogative as the selling club. Surprised you can't comprehend that?

I get where you're coming from, but with PSG, Man City & Real Madrid in the running, it's basically highest bidder wins. Liverpool can't realistically compete with those 3 as they'll literally pay anything. Liverpool won't have their hand forced, and especially so if the revolutionary overhaul is going to happen. I very much doubt the finances are there for transfers for Bellingham plus overhaul. Maybe around start of the season it did look realistic to sign him, but now there's other interest (not just Man City), I guess it's not as realistic any more. And now we wait for @Happy Blue's weekly 'he's coming to Man City anyway so what's the fuss about?' comment

True. This move should have been done a while back. In fact, several key moments it could have been made. Losing heavily to Forest in FA Cup last season. Losing to Forest away this season. Losing to Southampton last month. Generally the way we've played for approx 12-18 months has shown we've been on a downward trajectory. Someone that just gives players belief to play. And the ability to win ugly and give some backbone to the team.

How do you mean? I think any kind of new manager bounce (if it happens) will serve us in good stead. With the games we have this month I hope we can get away from the bottom 3. Just hope we get this appointment right.
