Yeah I went a few years ago pre-COVID to Palma with family. Pretty decent place. Think we went around October, and it was very hot then. Took a bus on one of the days into the centre - the Cathedral and Royal Palace is beautiful to walk around, and then you can walk down the port/along the seafront. Think we stumbled upon some botanical gardens and they were lovely.

We'd been trying for a while, so the missus was fairly anxious about it. So she got up in the middle of the night about 2-3am. Then woke me up in floods of happy tears and said she's pregnant. I think my first reaction was obviously shock, but then I asked her 'is this a dream' . Pure elation for a good few hours after that, struggled to get back to sleep!
  3. Yeah as Dan says. I look forward to seeing how he develops over here!

Think they just tried or wanted to be different. They've kept the T20 competition but wanted to move to franchises instead of counties. I'm not a fan.

  12. This might sound like the dumbest question - they had lots of difficulty locating the sub and there were lots and lots of crews from around the world. Then there's the implosion, and now there's debris which are easily located and (very quickly?) identified to be that of the sub. How? I'm guessing it's based on the radars these recovery tanks use, in that they can be tracked as they float around? I saw a graphic the other day about pressures at various levels under the surface of the water - even very close to the top of the sea level, a cork on a champagne will get popped back into the bottle. It's just very hard to even comprehend the kind of pressure the sub was experiencing at that level so far down.

It's definitely put the rest of the series in an intriguing place. I do like the new aggressive and attacking England tactic. It's entertaining and has been successful for them. But come up against a seriously strong opposition who play in the more traditional way and it's obviously not going to be as easy. The bigger picture being that England's prep for this Ashes hasn't really been there. Bigger than that, the Ashes gets moved for the fucking Hundred. Robinson is a prick. He's the one that got done for racist/sexist tweets in the past I think. And I've just seen his comments about 'Australia not going toe to toe with us'. Well yeah, because maybe they focused on getting the job done... Cummins was great in that final session. Didn't once get carried away. Lyon was ably supporting him. I just hope weather doesn't ruin anything any more. I don't blame the early declaration for England's loss. I think Bairstow missing 3 golden opportunities for wickets is more to blame.
  14. Apparently circular badges are easier to manufacture, hence clubs moving towards them.
  15. Of course, the response to it though is what I find intriguing. It is of course tragic that anyone dies in this fashion. But the last sentence you wrote is what gets me. Maybe I'm over-cautious but I think paying so much for it is one thing, but seeing that it's only controlled by a 'video-game controller' is what would have alarm bells ringing for me, if this is true. It seems an incredibly uncomfortable 'mission' to see such a thing at the depths of the ocean.
  16. Love how the media is very upset at rich people potentially drowning. Migrant boats though...that's another matter... Cynical, I know.
  17. Tyler Roberts to Birmingham for just under £1m
  18. I remember doing the survey and saying pretty much this.
