There's a few options (even before COVID19 we thought about these). It depends if we take a trip straight after wedding. It may be difficult as the missus will be moving here and also starting a new job, so depends on that. The alternative is a mini-moon - short trip probably in Europe and then we can save properly for a bigger proper honeymoon later on. Ideally - it would be Thailand & one of Sri Lanka/Mauritius/Maldives/Seychelles together, mixing in some travelling as well as pure relaxation. Or a trip the other way mixing in various parts of America and/or Central America/Caribbean. If we're doing the latter, it would have to be around Nov-Jan anyway so that we avoid hurricane season. Any mini-moon would probably be one of the Balearic or Canary Islands. Likely to be around September as it is which would be perfect.

Some of the actions of the government have been shameful when the truth is wormed out - they have the newspapers wrapped around their little finger at times so sometimes the spin for it becomes so pro-government (in England) and therefore the heavy criticism lasts less than a day. Take the news about Ferguson breaking lockdown. Newspapers (Telegraph?) knew of the breach since April 8th when it happened. If I remember correctly (and will happily be corrected if not), the day that news was actually broken was when testing targets were not met (coincidence?). It sounds like the actions of Gething are quite snidey, not only just to your colleague but just in general. Politicians have money at the heart of their decisions, rightly or wrongly. There's been occasions where they've made decisions, astonishingly, in their own financial interests or because they have investments in a friend's business so they choose that line instead of one that can actually do the job. And that's wrong. It still seems that there's no culpability or accountability from politicians here - but maybe in the middle of a pandemic and a global crisis perhaps it's not the time to point the finger. Hopefully an inquiry/investigation will be carried out and will truly identify where mistakes were made. Any government should be held to scrutiny for now and in future. Regardless of circumstance or scenario. I've seen the current government be heavily defended in some parts purely because it is a pandemic. As if that's a reason to let them off for any mistake or wrongdoing. I can't answer why the Welsh Government doesn't get more scrutiny or criticism here. Even after England it appears Scotland and Sturgeon get more attention.

If there's one thing I miss about working in an office it is the ability to just chat to a colleague about something work-related that you might not have come across, or just to get some guidance/advice about it all. Technology helps with that and it's always there anyway if we do need to speak to someone but sometimes it's not the same at all.

Same. Knew we had something in common Also, one of the best things about working from home isn't even the work anyway. It's so fucking good to be able to watch all the sport tournaments usually in summer without feeling guilty Yeah some roles lend themselves to always being in the office or having capability to do it or not. The company needs to have infrastructures to do it as well. No use asking everyone to work from home when you need to access work systems but connectivity through work VPNs are rubbish (had that experience many a time). Ironically, the logistics of it all need to be adequate enough to sustain that productivity the company would want...

It's not always so rosy. There are plenty of advantages as there are disadvantages to working from home. But it's something people will need to learn to manage and deal with for the next few months at least...

Our company has 400 people and in an open plan office, a maximum of only 30 people are planned to be allowed in to the office at any one time. That tells you the kind of cuts access to offices are to be expected perhaps? Any person not of that 30 would be restricted from just going to the office on a whim, and would have to ring up in advance so anything they do have will be left at reception for them to pick up, to minimise actually going in to the workspace.

Yes I agree - to go to Feb until start of May without it being pursued is dodgy as fuck. In that state it's not a crime to go in to the empty property and as you say as well as being evidenced, he doesn't take anything at all. Even if he did take something, the law in that state I believe allows you to detain someone to make that citizen's arrest until Police arrive on the scene. What they appeared to do is detain him and shoot him, even if Arbery did try to run away.

But having said that, we'd have heard a lot more about achieving immunity if it had been confirmed? The sign of anti-bodies being present is a good one, a positive one. But I'm sure there'll have to be tons more research going in to it and nothing will be conclusive for a good few months, in my opinion (based on no scientific knowledge ). Also positive is the government announcing there could be vaccine by September, up to 30m of them. But again, I'm not sure on the specific numbers and science behind it and if it's at all possible. There's not really much to believe as they did also say 400k pieces of equipment would be delivered from Turkey (it was late, and the wrong kind). Not to mention they included a single glove (not a pair) as one piece of equipment.

UK providing £84m of funding towards a new vaccine. UK has 170 deaths. Despite being lowest figure since March, has to be taken in to account that weekends usually have lower numbers. But having said that, as anyone who follows Professor Karol Sikora on Twitter would know, it's important to look at trends for specific days over the last few weeks which gives a clearer picture. Spain has has under 100 deaths which is a big milestone when you think how bad their outbreak was in that country. USA has 1394 deaths in past 24 hours.

The umpteenth contradiction by a politician during their shambolic handling of this crisis and it'll just shamefully get thrown under the carpet and escape people's minds that any of them ever happened. And if it doesn't escape their minds, you'll just get the excuse of 'they're in an unprecedented situation, don't be so harsh on them'. Fuck off. They're the ones in charge and making all the calls therefore they are equally in a position to be held accountable for it and be highlighted as to how they're handling it. You can bet your house and all your life's possessions that if it was a Labour government making these calls they wouldn't be so sympathetic...

I get the feeling they don't properly 'care' as such and are willing to let people take risks like pack public transport, so that Sky News can provide footage of buses emptying scores of people to further the government's agenda and support their notion that it will be the public that are at fault...
