Ultimate difficulty on fifa is horrible. I know it's probably well beyond what technology can reliably deliver but it would be nice if the top difficulties could be harder because the AI was more intelligent with the ball and decision making rather than just enabling them to do ridiculously unrealistic no look tika taka passes from one end of the pitch to the other while your players suddenly lunge over the ball or miscontrol interceptions so they bounce straight back to the opposition.

I'm still playing Ultimate Team and still have more fun collecting players for the league SBCs and saving coins to get the special cards when they come out than I actually have playing the matches. Still keeps me occupied though.

Music to my ears. I bought but never got into Civ 5 and I believe there's a Civ 6 but couldn't tell you for sure. Civ 4 was the one I sunk days of my life into, probably weeks, and after downloading BTS I never went back to the vanilla game. Thanks for the tip off!
-
I'm definitely downloading this and having a go at it tonight. It's for Civ 4 as well?

Is this a new mod? Never heard of it, looks class.

I'd have taken Fellaini a year ago but he wouldn't fit in at the moment. As for the centre halves. Lol, weirdest link I've heard in a while. Mina couldn't even get onto the pitch until Zouma was ineligible against Chelsea because he and Keane have been so good. One of the last positions we need to invest in.

I find it hard to weigh in on this now it's become such a chore to follow what's going on and I'm a bit past caring. There doesn't seem to be a sensible solution anymore. We will not negotiate a good deal with the EU regardless of the leadership. In this sense, that isn't May's failure, her failure is in how poorly it has been handled. Her position looked untenable after the snap election and we're seeing now all of the reasons why. We can all make valid points about how the public voted in favour of Brexit which is fair enough but when the new power bloc in and around number 10 found themselves there not through their belief in Brexit and desire to make it work, but through sheer opportunism and backing the right horse, you can't expect them to negotiate successfully in the interests of the public. The only way for this to work was for May to pull a blinder. Any other option involving a change of leadership just undermines the country and our negotiating position even more whether we send Boris, Corbyn or Sonic the Hedgehog to the negotiating table halfway through the negotiation period. I understand people's reservations with a second referendum as this again undermines the country's position. However I don't think it's unreasonable to comment now that there's a fair few people who have made a bit of a u-turn, and that a lot of the electorate are now more educated about what Brexit means for us than they were when they voted. If public opinion has swayed enough in that direction, and I personally don't think it has quite yet though it is on the way, then you could perhaps justify a second referendum which could lead to us scrapping Brexit altogether. The more this goes on the more it seems that that's the safest course of action, though I did vote to Remain all along so I'm clearly biased even if I'm trying not to be.

How did I not know that Ticktum was British?

Lot of time for Kubica but if he gets the Williams seat to plod around the back of the grid for a year or two at the expense of Ocon's Formula 1 career that's criminal.
-
Ocon was the foolish one but Max should have just gone what the fuck is this guy doing and let Ocon through if he was that arsed. It's like when you get overtaken by some cunt with a small nob when you're already going 10mph over the limit. He's the fuckhead but you're better off just getting out of the way and letting him get on with it.

That race was a massive WTF. Max scythed through Mercedes and Ferrari as if they weren't there. Red Bull look good going into next year.
-
Got a race on here.

Seems to be an unpopular opinion but I don't think Jesus quite has it all despite his impressive record of goals. When Aguero leaves City, I think they'll need to sign another player as I don't think Jesus will develop into their first choice striker.

The hybrid leagues and nations? Yeah the last couple in particular are an absolute nightmare to get done. Took a few weeks of packs from squad battle rewards and stuff to get those completed for me.

This game is close to being really good but there are a few huge flaws with the gameplay. I played my first weekend league ever this last weekend. Won 12 out of my first 22 games, needed 2 wins in my last 8 to get Gold 3, so obviously I only won one of my last eight and missed out. One of my issues I now realise was that when you are taking penalties on this game, your player actually looks where you're aiming so the other guy can see where you're going to hit the penalty, I mean seriously? Obviously you can change direction during the run up and try and trick the other guy but I was trying to get the hang of this as I went causing me to lose all four penalty shootouts I ended up in this weekend league. Another major issue is the AI defending. It's literally amazing how many times you can put in a perfectly timed tackle with a highly rated defender only for the ball to break straight into the path of the attacker whose balance is somehow less affected than your defender despite being the one who was clobbered by an Alderweireld or a Kompany. This means that most people sweaty enough to enter weekend league use the AI defending option, or the secondary press button as I think it's called, because for some reason when your AI controlled defenders win the ball it hardly ever takes a bullshit deflection into the path of the attacker anyway. So basically you get rewarded for not learning how to defend and tackle manually. It's a bit like playing in a competitive racing league on Gran Turismo and players who have all the braking and gearbox assists turned on being rewarded over players who learn to improve their laptime by getting good at doing it manually. There are other small issues such as the overpowered finesse shots from outside the box and some trick I've read about where you can move your goalkeeper when the other person shoots, I don't know how to do that one, but it all leads to my final conclusion about FIFA, or at least Ultimate Team. I play FIFA because I enjoy football and I enjoy Ultimate Team for the collecting of cards, opening packs, trying to play the market, completing the puzzles of squad building challenges all alongside the actual playing a football game. I'm also fairly competitive so when I play online I usually get pretty stuck into it, but over the last week or so I've come up against more and more players who can beat me because they can exploit the AI defending, keeper moving, finesse shooting, penalty predicting bullshit better than I can. I've reached a point here where my being bothered about winning or losing pales in comparison to the fact that I simply refuse to stop trying to play something vaguely resembling actual football in order to exploit the game engine and win at all costs, it's just boring and stressful to play that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty average player anyway, but the gameplay issues here have killed my enjoyment of the game in the short term. Really wish there was a viable alternative to FIFA to force EA to sort their game out a bit. However, even if they tried you're always going to have meta strategies in the game engine like those I've mentioned that the sweaty, try hard, win at all costs, Ultimate Team community will find and exploit. Just a shame there isn't a greater majority of people who just want to have fun and play it like a relatively normal football game but hey ho.

I absolutely vommed at this, and then my soul vommed as well.

Looks like this will end up as a war of attrition. Max looks pretty secure in P1 but could be a bit of a lottery for the rest of the podium. Vettel appears to be in better shape with his tyres than Ricciardo and Hamilton ahead of him.
-
I don't think people pointing out his faults when people get overly fanboy-ish over Hamilton means they're rattled to be fair. He has had Vettel rattled since Hockenheim or before that though.
-
Nobody can tell me Hamilton isn't a cunt though. He might be a fantastic driver but you not find him a cunt for describing himself as a "racing driver and musician" on Twitter as well as his camp American accent which he certainly didn't learn growing up in Stevenage.
-
Completely forgot about qualifying. Delighted to see Ricciardo on pole position, but expect Max to get the better of him tomorrow one way or another. Hamilton and Vettel to make contact in the first few corners and end the championship "battle", even if Hamilton ends up coming off worse.
-
Max is finally starting to grow on me though I thoroughly wanted him to fuck off for the last 20 laps of today's race.

The pendulum has swung back. Mercedes didn't pit Lewis when they should have and he's losing time hand over fist to Raikkonen. Big effort needed for Lewis to stay ahead and if he does bite the bullet and make a stop he'll now be 4th. Love to see Kimi win this race, Verstappen also keeping himself in with a shout with a mega drive.
-
Good defending from Kimi gives him a glimmer of hope if this is a one stop and Lewis needs another stop.
-
For fucks sake how retarded are Ferrari. I have no doubt that Hamilton would get ahead anyway but now he has banked his pit stop and only 8 seconds behind Raikkonen with only his team mate between them.
