  1. I hope he gets a chance in pre season. He looked great in pre season a couple of years back and got rave reviews from Forest in the first half of last season but appeared to fall out of favour when they changed manager. That's usually not a good sign but he gets the benefit of the doubt for me for the time being.

How has Federer been losing his serve to Anderson? Looks like a matter of time before Federer breaks to win but the way these two serve we could be looking at a 16-14 fifth set or something here.
  3. Saw that on reddit, really interesting to be fair.
  4. Sounds like a cunt to be honest. That's like if I played for a Sunday league team and scored against Tranmere in a friendly and called their keeper shite. Which they would be if I scored against them, but it'd still make me a cunt.

Really boring first week. Lack of British interest and no upsets has done it for me really. Edmund v Djokovic was probably interesting but I was already steaming after the England game by then so missed that one.
  6. Nobody can be surprised by this after that election result. She had some cheek thinking she was still in a position to lead the Conservative party in these negotiations and in general after that, but then again the alternative was almost certainly going to be more absolute chaos. The best parallel universe for us is probably the one where there was never any snap election. What an absolute shambles but this is a product of two decades (arguably more) of ineptitude from 10 Downing Street. The amount of poor leadership we've seen from both Labour and Conservative has been incredible - Blair, Brown, Miliband, May. The coalition with Nick Clegg made the Lib Dems into a laughing stock, and the most successful politician of the last 10 years at least is Nigel Farage. I didn't like David Cameron at the time but when you look back over the prime ministers I'm old enough to remember, and the opposition leaders they've each faced, he is looking head and shoulders above the rest right now. And this is the man who promised the country a referendum to get re elected then should have done a stronger job on the Remain campaign at the time. Glad I've escaped England at least .
  7. It's happened multiple times in the past to be fair. Okay 20 years ago and it's not what's happening now but people still remember and some of them are addicted to drama so in situations like this they see what they want to see.
  8. Great race and a great drive from all of the top four drivers. Still think Hamilton nicks this championship though.
  9. The remake is awful, absolutely butchers the original game. However if you've never played the originals on PS2 they aren't there to be spoiled for you so it might be decent on its own.
  10. https://streamable.com/2i0db Might actually beat Bottas to the unluckiest driver of the year award. In other news, for those that don't know this is F1s first ever triple header, three races in three weekends, and it's something that they will not be repeating next year.
  11. I'm replaying the original Ratchet and Clank trilogy on my PS3. Last night finished 100%ing the second game and just started the third. I never played anything after the third game when I were a lad, don't know whether I'll have a go at Ratchet Gladiator this time.

Edmund through to his first 3rd round at Wimbledon and faces Djokovic. They've played a couple of times before with Djokovic winning comfortably but Edmund not disgracing himself by any means. Should be a good match, if Kyle gets the crowd properly behind him then who knows.
  13. What a shambles this looks like from the outside. Is Sarri definitely happening or what?

Spot the casual viewer who thinks tennis is just played at Wimbledon all year round . Wimbledon is very traditional, tennis at large isn't like that, you get a much better atmosphere at other tournaments, particularly the Davis Cup. You might find it boring but these are some of the best individual sports men and women in the world.

How? It's one of the most raw one-on-one sports out there. Not everyone finds it fun to watch and I get that but I can't see any argument to cast doubt on how much of a sport it is. Takes strength, fitness, strategy, mental wherewithal and a lot of technique to be good at it.

Konta on her way out here. Back to no British women getting past the Second Round after her heroics last year. Her ranking will get battered as well with all the points she was defending from last year.

  18. Schumacher was the best of Hamilton and Vettel rolled into one driver. Both of them have had phases of looking Schumacher-esque when they've had a dominant car but neither of them are in his league. Schumacher pre-2007 would never have been outscored over the course of a season in the same car as Jenson Button, Daniel Ricciardo or Nico Rosberg. Alonso was the closest thing to being a second Schumacher in the way he could lead a team off the track as well as get the job done on it, something that defined Michael - Lewis and Seb have not done as much of this. However Fernando's knack for horrific career choices is an affliction Michael never suffered from. Also if Alonso hadn't got involved in a load of bullshit at McLaren with Hamilton and Ron Dennis he should have ended up easily winning the titles of 2007 and probably 2008 with them then who knows what he could have achieved.
  19. Decent race today. F1 can get fucked though until Bottas gets some luck. Was hoping Kimi could nick the win. How many podiums is that now without a win? His last one coming in 2013... Surprised Ferrari didn't swap the cars at the end. Imagine if Vettel loses the title by 1 point .
  20. I know some bullshit will stop Bottas from challenging for the win tomorrow but what a couple of laps today .
