  1. You know what I liked most about that episode. The music when things start to go to shit, I really like how Ramin Djawadi creates tension from simple progressions. First, Light of the Seven and now the Night King piece. I still think Light of the Seven is a far better piece for all the chaos it masks but that last composition is great too.
  2. I dont disagree there but the sad thing is that when that happens there will be other games I want to play and I can now safely say my backlog is complete with zero games sitting it (I think I sighed when that happened). I wouldn't say its a habit you get out of it just depends on your taste in entertainment and more importantly how your social circles are as well. Things like the theater, movies, etc in the past are easily discussable in social circles because hey everyone does them but its not like gaming has evolved beyond just a game they've got stories, arcs and in some cases are playable by all age groups and then you've got this hype built around them that engages people of all age groups too.
  3. Think that kinda depends on the games you play in your mid 20s too. I suppose the games these days are far more engaging and some aren't really stress busters like the stuff we played when we were younger (platformers, racing games, etc). I also think the industry is slowly trending/or has already trended towards game hierarchies where companies make games based on the demographic they want to hit instead of a fun game. Case in point are these games coming out like NiOh, Dark Souls etc versus the more casual oriented games for the masses like Fortnite, etc where the ramping is completely different. I think its a good thing honestly because you want to please a bigger demographic and not every game is for everyone. On that note, Mortal Kombat 11 is quite good if anyone wants to pick it up. Decent Story Mode, decent Krypt system and I think you can actually learn the combat system quite quickly since its got stop-frames and the wakeup/recovery frame system is very simple compared to games like Street Fighter. Don't get me wrong its got a lot of hidden complexity with the reversals and the block system but its a lot more easier to get into now.
  4. I think the initial controller play is a bit hard to master but once you get going its pretty easy to get a hang off imo. What is a bit tricky is the discipline of hitting a pattern to beat enemies but even that is once again a matter of time and practice. Something that did go under my radar was the new Metro Exodus game. Anyone played it?
  5. Really not that hard. I'd say give it a go you'll actually enjoy it.
  6. I am surprised at the no-mulitplayer comment more than the lootboxes tbh. Its a StarWars game and it has all the makings of a good multiplayer experience and EA are just going to let it be a one-time purchase? Lies is all I can say.
  7. Good point. In the end it shouldn't really matter to the club since they'd be getting a big sum and from the looks of things they are. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/new-liverpool-kit-nike-agreement-15607258 to overshadow the 750 million that City gets is beneficial to the club.
  8. I saw that yesterday and said the same thing. It's even more weirder how they seems totally oblivious to it by saying "all change is met with some kind of resistance". I mean if thats the case why dont they put a go-pro on their head and walk around projecting their lives to everyone on the globe.
  9. I think New Balance has been rather good and I personally can't stand Nike as a kit manufacturer anyways. Doesn't FSG own NB?
  10. I'd love to get Cuphead for the Switch sadly I played it on the PC and finished it so no point. Hellblade on the other hand looked promising but once again already played so no point really. I like that they are making ports of these though which is great news for Switch owners who want to get these games on their consoles. Thinking my next Switch purchase will be Xenoblade
  11. This right here is a good reason to pick it up and its a single-player game at that so that makes me even more interested. Agree about Titanfall but I felt like the first Titanfall was a bit better than the second that may also be due to the fact that it was more novel at the time. That campaign in Titanfall 2 however is very very good.
  12. You know someone is scared of zeroes when they stop using them and say 3 grand instead of 3000.
  13. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/photography/proof/2017/02/atomic-rooms-beijing-china-housing/?utm_source=reddit.com Fascinating read and kind of silly how expensive living is in Beijing.
  14. https://kotaku.com/an-easy-mode-has-never-ruined-a-game-1833757865 interesting little debate about adding an easy mode to games that may need them. I don't think its a bad idea for the game they are talking about, Sekiro, but as stated in the comments section thats not FromSoftware's way of doing things and to change that would mean that they then have to go about finding some way to change the mechanics to match the difficulty level. I'm not opposed to more inclusion but to destroy the foundation of a game is a bit absurd and there are plenty of other games out in the realm for play as well, I don't think the idea that you need ninja skills to play a game and feel the accomplishment after is a bad thing at all.
  15. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2019/03/in-1959-volvo-gave-us-the-seat-belt-heres-what-its-safety-team-is-building-now/?comments=1 Only reason I even put this in here is the driver assistance feature.
  16. I too am curious how it works because if this is a way to get the first year to test the service then I think its a good move. I wonder if this also means that we will at some point see Nintendo and Amazon partner for the server backend for all this. I think its smart considering they can host so much better on AWS and Amazon wins too since people have to get their Prime Service for the first year.
  17. I started watching it but got side-tracked with work will probably watch a bit more over the weekend. I am also trying to get through Love Death and Robots first just another two more episodes to go.
  18. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/03/amazon-prime-now-includes-a-free-one-year-subscription-to-nintendo-switch-online/ To all the Switch owners @Harry @Cannabis @Bluebird Hewitt
  19. Ghost of Tsushima and NiOh 2(this one I am definitely looking forward to) Didn't Lirik finally beat it? I am avoiding watching streams so I can play the game as it was meant to be played. Also, you're right about hard AF, if you think engaging two enemies is a good idea without some kind of gameplan to eradicate one of them quick you'll get mothered very very fast. Met a mini-boss with two bars and thought meh can't be that hard till he gave me a walloping. I then went back and did it Nioh style where you wait for openings and while it took 15 minutes it was so gratifying.
  20. Started playing Sekiro this morning. It's weird because it has an almost NiOh style to it, based on a Shinobi trying to help and at the same time there are mechanics like Onimushra and Gaiden in there too. Not much platforming from a puzzle perspective yet but some of these mid-ground bosses are a little ridiculous (just like NiOh). If you like any of these games: Ninja Gaiden, NiOh, Onimushra or Dark Souls then this is a good game imo. The mechanics can get a bit clunky and the openings have to be well timed otherwise you're left swinging your weapon and leaving yourself open to attacks. This of course leads to damage and in some cases death and you really dont want to die in this game because then the grueling run to get all your stuff back starts.
  21. He's the kind of player who likes to leave it all on the pitch so having that kind of energy when you want to rotate people in and out is very useful. Plus, he offers a more direct approach in the way we attack but I doubt we'll see too much of him till very late in the run-in as Klopp likes taking his time with reintroducing players.
