  1. And you send this in a 10 days span when I've just watched Carpenter's The Thing and then the prequel as well. Scary stuff, very scary stuff.
  2. Think Microsoft are the next ones to jump ship from E3 honestly. But, they also need to have a killer showing before they do and we sometimes forget how much Sony has used E3 over the years to boost hype and get them to where they are at now.
  3. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/01/on-eve-of-ps5-sony-confirms-it-will-skip-e3-for-second-year-in-a-row/ Sony are doing something different here and you have to think its the right thing for them to do too. Why spend all that money and send your devs to a place which dictates the time-frame for a demo when you can run your own show and schedule things the way you want to? While it is a competition to see who has the better titles its more apt to do it on your own terms versus having to jam and rush things. Plus they are doing a PS5 release this year and to have their own event makes a lot more sense. You then have to wonder when Microsoft are going to ditch E3 and go for their own event which they are very capable of doing.
  4. Yes I have. Played it ages ago and I was tempted to get the new one for the Switch but then there were other titles I was more interested in playing this year.
  5. If you like Star Wars you'll get the reference. It's the fact that Storm Troopers can never hit anything and are always missing.
  6. @Rab just sent you a 50 quid as donation. Do let me know if you don't get it.
  7. https://kotaku.com/how-game-companies-use-credits-to-reward-or-punish-de-1840905129 Nice read about the history of game credits, how different countries use them and how devs can get totally dicked over for work they've done leading to poor opportunities later. I'd be a bit pissed if I spent months working on something and never got any credit for it, especially in an industry where reputation pretty much shapes your future.
  8. They just love the number 3. Don't listen to the captain 3 weeks. Don't read the messages and a spot check ... 3 weeks. This one made me laugh the most.

    NHL

Chances for a playoff are slim now with Couture out with a fractured ankle.
  10. Talk like that means that the club are backing him? Sounds like he's going to get rid of a lot of deadwood or the deadwood is going to get auto-ejected. In a few months time they'll have gotten rid of the last three if thats what they want. Makes you wonder what their long-term plan is.
  11. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/01/dells-new-concept-ufo-puts-pc-gaming-on-a-nintendo-switch-like-device/?comments=1 Dell are trying the unthinkable. Putting PC gaming in a switch-like container. Looks impressive so far.

As a rule of thumb. Premature anything is just bad ... fucking Caps. Kane should have ended it in OT but he got stopped and then seconds later they go up the other end and win.

As a Sharks fan I was thinking yeah this is going to end very well for us. Then it just all went to pots.

    Making Music

Has anyone tried this and if so how did you get around the slap and flick? I can do a full palm mute and open like they do with most latin music but this is a whole new kind of weird to me. When I hit my thumb on a string the natural tendency is for my fingers to curl like a fist versus the way it stays open. If you did somehow get this right I'd love to hear how you did it?
  15. Just finished watching this and its very good 8/10 for me.
  16. Norwich was where he strutted his skill. They used to be sick of him. Even the one where he hit the shot earlier through the defense was a great piece of skill.
  17. That Suarez hit against Norwich is some skill. The Salah one is also impressive because he appeals for the handball then goes around and dizzies two defenders before putting it past their GK.

    Making Music

Don't know how many of us actually play acoustic guitar but this is also a very useful technique for creating the illusion of a dual-bass system (with your bass player) when you want to do some more intricate arpeggio work. If I remember right I think when Satriani plays the pull and push pattern on Satch Boogie he uses a thumb in two parts just like this but its much faster and coupled with the 8th and 9th notes to give that jazzy/rock feel. Oh and towards the end of this he starts to show the John Mayer technique which is to forget you have five fingers and use only three with the thumb adding percussion to give that stop-start feel. Great lesson overall.
  19. I don’t think Underwater will be bad but they’ve done this setup before and with a better female protagonist too. Wish they’d do something different like the aliens are having a good day underwater and the humans come and the aliens have to save their kind by getting rid of the human invaders.
  20. i remember listening to this for the first time and thought what a killer bass line. Still good after all these years
