  1. Keita is fit for MK Dons tonight. Don't think he'll play of course but its a good sign.
  2. Think its also expected that there will be fallout for employees of the company but you're right, people losing their jobs and not having a way to make ends meet is way worse than people having to sort their travel plans out.

  4. Started the campaign on Gears and besides it looking pretty as a game have to say its a regular run and gun so far with the Swarm just popping up here and there. Like the fact that they don't let the action stagnate for too long and you're always fighting your way through things.
  5. Gears 2 on an XBox but I am sure they've come miles since then.
  6. Got it for PC yesterday haven't really played it yet as setting some things to ULTRA require bigger texture downloads but I am curious to see how far they've come since I last played it now.
  7. Think the problem that is stated is more a global issue than just in the UK government. It all really depends on how you see it, as a concerned parent you dont want your child abusing money to pay for loot boxes and as a consumer you dont want to have to pay for stuff when you've already shelled out money for the game. EA are the worst at this and they have already received backlash from the community on their lootbox practices but its never really been something regulated before and I sincerely hope this is the start of it.
  8. I am hopeful he does get time in the last week of September because even though we have a big month in October every single game counts when you're running up against City who are regaining momentum again. There is a part of me that doesn't want him to go out on International break when he recovers but it might be good for his form and to gain playing time if he does.
  9. https://www.uefa.com/womenschampionsleague/news/newsid=2618528.html?iv=true Champions league starts today with the first match being Ryazan vs OL. No prizes for guessing who will dominate this match. Fixtures list https://www.uefa.com/womenschampionsleague/matches/#/rd/2001126 @Eco tagging as I know you follow this.
  10. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/09/alisson-back-in-light-training-but-liverpool-cannot-look-too-far-ahead-with-recovery/ Good news from training. I don't expect to see him back till the end of the month though.
  11. The binge watches? Yeah I suppose you're right but you also have to take into account that with all these streaming services popping up you have to retain users not lose them. The idea that Disney will be able to yank most of their content due to rights is scary considering how many shows Netflix has with the Marvel moniker attached and they have to diversify. In the end I think they will split it down the middle based on some weird upper-management decision giving users some shows that they can binge watch while others they'll want to run the weekly release to keep the user-base interested. The other chance is that they'll reduce the cost of the service as a result to compensate for what users might think is an unnecessary monthly expense.
  12. If Zinadine is such a huge fan I am sure we could arrange an autograph from Sadio for him. And don't worry we won't send it via fax.
  13. I've seen reviews praising it and for good reason too. The little I did see showed a good game and I was actually thinking I should play this but then Control came around and I figured I haven't played enough Gears to really warrant its purchase.
  14. I don't have any issues with a streaming service shifting their content dispersal schedule. I think it bodes well for hit shows and allows them to also get better audience engagement. The upside is that users are now going to watch more shows as a result of the wait game period (possibly) and you get to plug a hit show for a longer period as well. The real question is whether an individual would want to keep the subscription active for that long just to wait it out if there isn't enough engaging content.
  15. https://www.wearethemighty.com/gear-tech/robot-machine-guns-guard-dmz So this is pretty old but the only reason I posted it was because I couldn't find the other more awesome article which states that they could now auto-detect threats. So, in essence, the AI system running these things is now capable of making tactical decisions that are akin to figuring out whether a subject is a threat or not and then neutralizing said threat as well. South Korea leads the world in robotic AI development so we're going to see some more of this stuff come about and the dire need to eradicate humans from life threatening war-based solutions isn't far away. I even said it in the AI thread, the day isn't far when machines can actually make better tactical decisions than humans when it comes to life-saving or prevention-based scenarios. The other big improvement in robotics that has fueled so much good and bad stuff (as tech always does) is exoskeletal work to mimic organic motion. I don't remember where I read it but troop deployments with heavy weapons/cargo will be a thing of the past and it may already be because the exo-s can now carry thrice the load a normal person would with negligible movement hindrance as well. Couple that with the aforementioned weapon tech and add some AI for friendly-spot recognition and you're closer to a self-run killing machine that can do more damage than a regular soldier and withstand harsher conditions. Edit: Sorry, forgot to tag @CaaC (John) and @nudge
  16. I tend to do the same. I'll put it on and watch a few episodes then ill move to the next thing I want to do and come back. I do like the idea that I can come back whenever but having a weekly release to me seems better as I then don't end up watching two episodes in a row and can space it out over the course of a week. There is a lot of 'interesting' content and very little 'i want to watch' content and the latter tends to be documentaries or something that is ultra popular at the time. The boys and girls at Netflix must be thinking with all the other streaming services in place right now that its better to keep their users engaged over longer periods versus just handing them content that is packaged for a one-time sitting thus prolonging two things interest and the subscription fee.
  17. News on the internet is stating that Netflix are going to do away with releasing all the episodes of some of their popular shows in on release and instead move to a weekly release schedule. I don’t think that’s a bad idea honestly and it will keep engagement numbers high. It does, however, stop all the binge watching.
  18. I don’t think we can compare VAR to goal-line tech for the simple fact that goal-line tech is linear technology. It’s a ball and a line, no X factors, no did he touch it with his hand, no angles are required, nothing. And that also happens to be the one thing that is driving people up the wall about it and sparking debate. I do think it slows the game down with all the decision making time required and that should change but we’re still in its infancy and I imagine its going to get a lot better faster than we think it will. Using it in a few tournaments and saying its shit doesn’t even encompass 10% of the failures we’re going to see along the way and that will come with rectification. It is technology after all and universal adoption is the ‘only’ way anything gets better. Sure, we’re going to see it fail numerous times in our lifetime and I highly doubt the people who want this to succeed are going to let all the pitfalls its showcasing to be the way to kill the tech but these are the early days of the adoption process and its going to be crazy. The biggest downfall of this technology is how its adopted and the rules governing its adoption process as well. Standardisation of practices has always benefited anything new introduced into any sport and its seems like here its all about appeasing people to introduce the technology versus using the technology effectively to govern the rules of the sport across every instance of its existence.
  19. Wish I could copy the tweet and paste it in here but this iPad doesn’t allow it. Apparently all our sales and loans of players have generated 53.2 Million this summer. I suppose that’s a good thing because now the pot to get a player we want just gets better either in the winter or the following summer. NVM figured it out.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWJvZGzyCsg He really is a madman haha.
  21. Well atleast the home games will be interesting for the fans.
  22. TBF to them they had the answer right as NO. He's worth much more than 75.
