Today 4pm UK time they are supposed to stop using the antlers logo they stole and also have to show their financials as per court order... Stay tuned for more fun

True, but there are also plenty of Vietnamese who are more than able to afford it as well plus there's the benefit of increased levels of tourism that hosting an F1 race is supposed to bring. Also let's be honest - an average Vietnamese isn't particularly interested in F1 in the first place. The ones who are interested more or less fall into the category of young urbanites from families with expendable income higher than the average national statistic + the rich from surrounding Southeast Asian countries and China.

Well yeah... compared to most of the other GP destinations it's cheap.

I hope you're not going to spend the time at the Bachelor's party reading a book though! I just ordered Star Wars: Tarkin and Master and Apprentice...

Red Bull broke pit stop world record in Silverstone 1.91s; fasted pit stop ever recorded! And their second best pit stop yesterday was 1.96s Incredible; amazing job by the mechanics!

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) Finally watched it as I had enough time on my flight. Really can't understand all the raving reviews on social media. I like Queen and Freddie Mercury and the movie just didn't work for me. Granted Rami Malek's performance is great (acting is good in general) and I liked the music scenes but everything else...Too generic, little depth, too many cliches. Don't get me wrong - it's a decent movie, but extraordinary? Not at all. Freddie deserves better. 6.5/10

Ah, you got the No Man's Sky vibes here? Nah it's made by the Hinterland Studio, an independent Canadian game studio. I don't think they have released any other games prior to this one... What I found interesting is the fact that the Department of Canadian Heritage were the main financial backers of this project.

Let me know what you think once you check it out...I spent quite a few hours playing it over the weekend; love it. Although it can be frustrating; I was pretty pissed off yesterday when I was exploring some abandoned cars looking for useful stuff only to turn around and get attacked by a wolf...right after getting out of the ravine and surviving a heavy storm. Just shows how you can never feel safe and turn your guard down in a survival situation I guess Apparently when it was first released, there was only the sandbox mode so those who played it at the beginning were just thrown right into it and had to figure it out all by themselves. Story mode (called Wintermute) which was released later apparently failed to impress those who played the sandbox initially, but as someone completely new to the game, I'm enjoying it a lot, especially since it serves as a tutorial (you basically get objectives to complete) to what seems like an extremely tough and challenging game. Can't wait to delve into the survival open world mode once I get the most out of the story mode; it's endless fun. Some people have clocked hundreds or even thousands (!) of hours, madness...

A little update on the Dawn of Man: another 5-6 hours and I reached the Bronze Age (5th out of 6 eras). The game has become reasonably more complex after entering more advanced eras, as more different resources and buildings come into play and raider attacks become more often, so defensive buildings start making sense. That said, I still find it a bit too easy, at least on 'normal' difficulty on a regular map - once you sort out your farming fields and domesticate animals, food scarcity isn't an issue anymore. Resources are plentiful, hunting game meat is abundant, raider attacks are a nuisance but does no serious damage. The biggest challenge so far is increasing the population, but only because it takes time and you actually lose people due to old age, animal & raider attacks, infections and diseases, etc. (that said, you also get newborns to increase the population as well). I personally enjoy it as it still manages to not be boring and I also like the limited scope of a prehistoric town (as compared to other games where you build huge complex cities), but for someone who wants the game to be more challenging it could be problematic (I haven't tried the 'hardcore' difficulty on harsher maps and haven't done any challenges yet though - it's possible that it makes the game hard and just challenging enough!). All in all, it's around 30 hours of play. @Bluewolf

Haas are apparently claiming 35m in damages from Rich Energy... while they are still waiting for a 6m invoice to be honoured Combined with awful on-track performances, it's a disastrous season for Haas.

I've always been a fan but even I didn't expect him to be doing that well! He seems to be getting stronger with every race as well; very encouraging to see. To think that he had no sponsors and literally had to beg for a seat at DAMS in F2 last season...finished third and had already agreed to join Nissan at Formula E due to lack of other options this season right before Toro Rosso came knocking.

Ok, there has been an unexpected turn of events - my little prehistoric village will have to wait... because I got recommended another game and made the mistake of checking it out... and now I'm completely hooked. Has anyone player The Long Dark??? It's a hardcore open-world survival game where you take the role of a crash-landed bush pilot who must survive the frozen Canadian wilderness in the aftermath of a global geomagnetic disaster. Honestly I've never played anything like it. I'm in the story mode (in order to learn the game mechanics as there's no tutorial) but there's also a sandbox mode where the whole game worlds are open for you to explore and it's supposed to be the strongest aspect of the game. There are no zombies or anything like that; it's just you in an extremely harsh environment combating the natural elements in order to survive. Hunger, cold, thirst, wildlife. Absolutely amazing - and very challenging. I bled out to death within minutes on my first attempt, died of hypothermia on Day 1 (very realistically portrayed by the way with my vision getting blurry, feeling disoriented, and then passing out) on my second one, and now I'm slowly getting hold of it on my third attempt at last. Very realistic in the sense that even getting fire started is a challenge at first. Very eerie, almost haunting landscapes, gorgeous visuals and stylised art, superb soundtrack and brilliant game mechanics. Incredible immersive, slow paced and contemplative. Does a great job of capturing the feeling of struggling to survive in an unforgiving environment... The visuals as well as the sound and immersive atmosphere actually makes you feel cold and hungry and dizzy... What a masterpiece... @Bluewolf @Mel81x @Dr. Gonzo

Only 44 currently - I wanted to get the infrastructure in place first (food production, clothing & tools, etc.) so I limited the number of the inhabitants. Going to fully focus on increasing the population by constructing more huts now that I have ample supply of food and linen/wool. My inner farmer is happy

Another two hours and I'm about to advance to the 4 (out of 6) era. Took a few screenshots for you @Bluewolf:

Will do. It's worth mentioning that this is freeplay that I'm doing now - there is also "challenge mode" which you unlock by reaching certain milestones in the freeplay mode. There are also varying degrees of difficulty in both gameplay and terrain. The hardest one is the frozen terrain apparently and it's a real challenge to survive there!
-
Yes we'll see how that goes - I'm currently in the Neolithic era only so still a bit to go until I reach the Iron Age (that's the last one in the game I believe); so far every new era had new challenges even if the basics stayed the same. At any case it's perfect for a casual player like me...

Only 0.183s behind pole is very encouraging; especially on a relatively long lap and on a power track such as Silverstone. Last year the gap to P1 was 0.7s so it's a great improvement by Red Bull & Honda. Max was complaining about a turbo lag as well, so it's likely that there's even more to get out of the car... Race pace looked very good during the training sessions so it can get interesting tomorrow! Hope to see Max on the podium. Gasly improved as well; only a bit over three tenths behind Max and both of the cars starting between the two Ferraris could be helpful for the strategy. Albon in P9 is nice too - that's three Honda engines in top 10. According to AMuS, Honda is considering introducing its next engine specification before the summer break at the GP of Hungary. The upgrade should bring an extra 25-30 HP.

Don't care about that much tbh... Don't like it aesthetically but I'd rather they sort out racing instead of aesthetics anyway!
-
Just imagine: - bring back refuelling - bring back multiple tyre suppliers - get rid of too complex aero, simplify it, bring back more ground effect
-
I've played it for around 10 hours now and I like it a lot... Didn't expect such depth and complexity. Hunting, fishing, gathering, plant and animal domestication, knowledge gain, good and logical tech tree to research in order to advance further, a lot of things to keep in mind such as food source diversification, change of seasons, food processing, etc. At the same time, it is easy to master - so I think that it will get boring at the later stages.

Formula 1 is considering bringing back in-race refuelling as part of rule changes from 2021! https://www.grandprix247.com/2019/07/12/todt-we-should-go-for-refuelling-in-formula-1/
