What an amazing race it was... Well worth staying up last night. Plenty of on track drama and exciting clean wheel to wheel racing throughout the race. Brilliant win for Porsche/Earl Bamber Motorsports too; the last 20 minutes of the race were absolutely incredible. The best I've seen in quite a while.

I have the 10 CD Box of Hank Williams Sr. but never really got into Hank Williams Jr.; thanks for sharing this as I will definitely look into more songs by him! Merle Haggard is just amazing... my favourite country singer along with Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. one of my favourites:

Sad news... Probably makes sense marketing-wise but to see the Sauber name disappear from F1 really hurts and it's a shame to see it go especially as it's the only team I could ever support in F1. That said - it's still the same team as Alfa Romeo only got full name rights; the ownership of the team hasn't changed (Sauber Motorsports is still independent) and it won't in the (near) future. To be honest the name was always in danger since Peter Sauber retired and Longbow/Islero took over; it's disappointing to see the name disappear for now but it might as well be back after a few years if (when?) this partnership comes to an end. When Alfa's gone Sauber will still be there... Still don't get it why wouldn't they be happy with Alfa Romeo Sauber; just like BMW Sauber back then. Both names (Alfa Romeo AND Sauber) have enormous heritage in F1 and motorsports overall so that was as close to perfect as it gets... Hopefully the financial commitment from Alfa is worth the sudden rebranding...

I'm probably talking to myself here as usual but in case anyone's interested: there's Bathurst 12 hour this weekend; arguably one of the most entertaining GT3 races on the calendar and it never fails to deliver in terms of action and overall entertainment. 28 Class A entries, 10 different makes of GT3 cars (Audi, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren, Mercedes AMG, Nissan, Porsche), world-class teams all over the world - all racing on one of the most spectacular race track ever with plenty of fast dangerous curves and big elevation changes. It was obvious that Toro Rosso saw Hartley as a temporary solution only to fill the gap from the very beginning... I was hoping he could use the chance and impress everyone but that sadly didn't happen. He didn't have much luck during the season either but to be fair his performances were sub-par most of the time too. A good driver and a top bloke, but I think it's save to say that his F1 chapter is now closed forever. I wonder what's next - would love to see him in a Porsche again. Could see him ending up in their FE team next season.

As if the new all-female series concept wasn't controversial and stupid enough, the first driver selection is done and many of the fastest drivers in the selection tests are surprisingly missing out from the final 28... no one actually knows the selection criteria (should be speed, potential, and overall aptitude but it's apparently not); it's getting even more obvious that it's just a PR-stunt and money grab and nobody in charge really give a fuck about actually promoting women in racing.

Got stuck on the stupid gun turret mini game while escaping Taris on Ebon Hawke in KOTOR... Seriously must have tried at least a dozen of times and every time loading the save it means I had to watch all those cut scenes again each time. Still was unable to beat it; is it my laptop or are the controls really so unresponsive and inaccurate? Could also be me as I am not into shooters. Had to find out how to compile a script to bypass it Feels a bit like cheating but I was getting too frustrated. Still amazed by this game though.

KOTOR is mad, played it for over 8 hours today... Very addictive.

The race is fantastic. Just got red flagged for the second time after they have been racing in torrential rain for hours; not sure if it will resume. Still 1 hour and 49 minutes to go. Alonso in front at the moment after a mistake by Nasr. Those conditions are mad.

The last time I saw an owl in the wild is probably over 20 years ago. There's a bird of prey that has been regularly circling my area recently; above medium sized one with a big wing span. Definitely a nocturnal one as I only see it close to sunset and then hear the calls up until about 5-6am. Haven't managed to capture a photo of it to be able to identify it; must be some kind of a hawk I think...

I would never get a rat as a pet myself simply because their lifespan is so short... Couldn't deal with losing a pet every 2-3 years.
